  1. NIMBY Alert NIMBY Alert NIMBY Alert http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-whdbu...headlines-local Perhaps a VolvoSaabBeemerWay would suffice.
  2. OK, now this makes a little more sense. The quadrant that they paved (Prospect between the Elks and Times buildings) is being used for visitor parking for the Wadsworth. They even put nice pretty banners up. That is a good SHORT-TERM use. Now...... WHERE IS THE SITE PLAN FOR FRONT STREET?!?!
  3. Wouldn't the so-called 'agreement' between Nitkin and CCEDA have to be publicly available somewhere? Anyone know how to get a peek? Nothing on either website or newspapers: www.cceda.state.ct.us/news/index.htm hbnitkin.com
  4. http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-front...headlines-local Finally, something......!!!
  5. See attached: http://www.icsc.org/srch/mt/descs/2006L08/2006L08.pdf Did this event occur, and if so, what did he say about the Front Street site plan? Do all of you also post on the 'skyscraperpage' forum, or is this where the cool guys hang out?
  6. I knew that casino comment would generate a lot of discussion.............. it's actually a moot point right now anyway, since only the Mohegans or Foxwoods can legally operate in the state, and they wouldn't want to risk keeping ONE person away from their multibillion $$$ investments down south. Yo Big 6 C&E High Horn Hardways!
  7. Sounds good to me as long as ample parking is available (no one is going to take mass transit to an outlet), but they better come out with something soon. Also, that may help to attract some retail-oriented conventions. I wonder how the state would react to Foxwoods or Mohegan opening up an "annex" at Front Street - just a few tables and slots, nice restaurant, etc.
  8. Hopefully that's just for the convenience of the construction workers, since they can't park in the Science Center lot anymore. That is probably the last spot that will be developed (originally that is where the residential tower was going to go). It's funny, I noticed in the new Front Street garage that a whole section is blocked off for "Residents Only" parking already - at least that shows a little optimism..... NOW SHOW ME THE SITE PLAN, CCEDA & Nitkin!
  9. I seem to recall the number 300 per day from the BDL market area thrown around last year - enough to fill at least one jet to Europe daily. I think San Antonio would be a good choice - it is the 9th biggest city in the U.S., and like Hartford has a large Hispanic population.
  10. STILL no site plan for Front Street? What is the deal-ee-o? Troubling.
  11. I wonder if any Hartford decision-makers have access (or care) to read this forum - it should be brought to their attention. No big deal, but is there a way to 'un-pin' these top 6 topics, so that we just see the most recent topics first?
  12. Does the state have any arrangements with St. Paul Travelers and Phoenix to do something with all their loading docks on Columbus Blvd.? They are pretty ugly, and could probably be relocated (plus, every time I drive there all the truck just stay in the street anyway and unload their stuff!)
  13. ANY movement at all from Nitkin / CCEDA??? A site plan? Conceptual drawing? Doodle on the back of a cocktail napkin?
