Why do you say this? There are many concert halls around the world that have pipe organs imbedded into the backdrop. hell, look at first baptist church of orlando and their pipe organ (largest in the se). The pipes line the back wall of the stage. What is it about this hall that says you can't have a pipe organ? I guess my next question is who says we need a pipe organ?

yes, the article definitely changed from when i first read it. so how does this potentially affect the hilton church street proposal? i also read an article (although now i can't find it) that the lexington is also looking to convert to another well known brand. once the arena is done and the new OPAC is completed, would there be enough business to support both of these hotels (and lets not forget about CP III down the street)?

55 West to become a condo hotel according to orlando business journal. how does this work exactly? are they going to still honor the contracts for the residential aspect of the project?

an orlando sentinel article states that some of the units at 55W will become rentals.

bic, i was poking around yesterday afternoon and saw that there is two different gateway hospitalities. one is simply gateway hospitality in SC and the other is gateway hospitality group in OH. the difference isn't very dramatic but the gateway hospitality group develops hilton garden inns.

I agree with your concern about this elevation. but, i don't see south st as being a pedestrian friendly road. you have an i4 on and off ramp between garland and division with no traffic lights to slow or stop traffic. there aren't any sidewalks even. i think pedestrian traffic should be routed down church street where there will be a lot more people and places for them to spend their money. as for the detailing of the south street elevation, i'd like to see the orlando magic logo done in grafiti or a large screen that broadcasts the home games. the lot across south is vacant so the local residents could pull up blankets and chairs and make an evening of it. i have long thought that the same vacant lot could become a dog park for the city of orlando since it butts up against I-4 anyway.

i just remembered this article in the orlando sentinel that says vander weide would be updating the devos' on the arena design yesterday. this is back from the 15th of last month

yes.....food is good, dessert is better, wine list is best (if you like spanish wines). the staff makes it phenomenal. you will feel like you are the only table in the restaurant.

if this guy can put something together that looks like this does for 67 million then i'm confident we're gonna have something that surprises us all

i don't understand why the people working on the OPAC don't release some renderings or better plans to try and increase the hype behind this project. i'd imagine buddy dyer would appreciate it also.
