I'd hate to lose The Skillet.

Baguette & Co is coming to Wall St

That Roper Mtn location was terrible because of the traffic. I was working at Patewood back then and would head down Pelham to Bilo after work even though HT was closer because the traffic at that intersection made it nearly impossible to get in and out and onto 385 to head home.

They're also on Twitter as @draytonmills and Instagram as liveatdraytonlofts.

I bought my ownership when this campaign started.

And I've only purchased ebooks for years. (Lately I've been borrowing ebooks from the library.)

And now we've had a negative review. One of our members went to Friends & Company last night and reported back that the food wasn't good and service was slow. Hopefully this is just a little bump in the road as they're getting going.

We've had two positive reports so far on Nextdoor about Friends & Company.

Evidently NCG Cinemas is locating in the old Carmike location at Hillcrest. They are holding a job fair there October 17 and 18. That is good news for Hillcrest and eastside Spartanburg.
Yup! We've been talking about it on Nextdoor for about a week. One of our members stopped and asked the workmen what was up when we noticed that they had made a lot of progress gutting it.

If I had to choose, I'd take functional over updating to be "modern" any day of the week. Lately, so many websites are using tiny pale lettering on bright, white backgrounds, and that's not functional for me.

on the County's (laughable) website. shoulders on each side.
I agree that it's pretty barebones visually, but it's very functional and pretty fast when looking up property info.

Oh no, the Nu-way stays.
But do you think the proprietor of the Nu-way will clean up it's exterior appearance?
I hope not.

White Lightning 2?

Yes it was a Jack in the Box and for that reason I will have a hard time trying Deno's as JIB was a very unpleasant experience.
Deno's has been getting mixed reviews on the eastside Nextdoor sites. Some love it; others don't.

I guess that means that lot finally sold since Lee's is moving. I wonder what will go there next.

I wish they had found another spot around Hillcrest. I also wish something would open where Burger King was

The city's Citizens Advisory Council had their July meeting and NNO planning session in one of the pavilions there last week. It was the first time I had ever set foot inside Barnet Park. It was really nice even though it was hot as blue blazes that evening!

BTW - He played Charlotte twice with his 90's concert (before Charlotte was even big) being broadcast live nationally via FOX.
I've gone to his concerts in Raleigh, Columbia and Charlotte and tried to get tickets for this one. What can I say? We're fans!

Is that going in where the closeout store was?

The Fresh Market is opening up on Prosperity Church Road in the fall. http://obswhatsinstore.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-fresh-market-signs-lease-for-new.html?m=1

I used to live on John Dodd and thought I recognized the name. I never ate there because I don't care for barbecue (I prefer hash), but I had always heard his was good. That was a shrewd move on his part!

Is that the one that used to be at John Dodd and New Cut?

And the Teeter's not? I've NEVER been in a dirty HT. I HAVE been in a dirty Publix (N Miami Beach).
Keep your shirt on. I wasn't referring to Harris-Teeter. We don't even have one here in Spartanburg any more, but I do go to the one at Harris and Mallard Creek with my sister when I'm visiting. You just asked why people liked Publix, and I answered.
My experience with both has been that they are roughly the same level of store in cleanliness and availability of what I want to buy at a reasonable price. Those are the main things I look for in a grocery store. Every Kroger that I've ever been in felt a little grimy. I hope they will leave HT to be HT.

They're clean and well-stocked.

We went to Biltmore back in November for the Candlelight Tour and to see the Downton Abbey exhibits. The Candlelight Tour was really beautiful, and we saw all four floors (which we weren't expecting). It is an amazing place!
