It's been so long since the projects thread has been updated, what does everyone think of this? How many parcels remain for development on the riverfront? http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2006602150409

I just went by 8 mile and Woodward and noticed a bunch of machinery moving dirt around at the site where "The Shops at Gateway Park" are supposed to go. Does this mean they might actually start construction, or is this something else?

Walking by the National Theater today I noticed that the scaffolding was taken down, and that there is new construction wood put up in front of the structure. There's also a bunch of workers working away in the place. Does anyone have the new scoop?

Yup I'm back. I was on the East Coast for a while (with a job I HATED), so I was out of the loop. I scored a rather nice job back here, so I'm happy again. Trying to figure out where I'm going to move to in Downtown, midtown, or Riverfront. It's a really exciting time to be a Detroiter.

Does anyone know if there's anything going on with the Lindell AC building? I saw about 6 workers doing work on the exterior of the building today.

Thanks for the info Al, I've been gone from home too long, I just got back this month and I'm out the loop. How many buildings are proposed for the riverfront parcels?

Does anyone have any new knowledge on the riverfront development, or the new FBI building? Did the city ever award the develpment rights to the developers for the parcels of land on the river yet?

Was oustide of the Metropolitan today and saw several contractors working away putting up wooden siding (Similar to what you see outside of the Broderick now). I asked one of the contractors if he knew anything about the rennovation, and he informed me that they were only boarding up the building, and didn't know much about the rehab project. Something I gathered from the conversation though is that another group of contractors are supposed to be in the building soon. He couldn't tell me if they were going to be fixing the building or what, but I'm hoping this is the case.
