With CSX running freight trains on shared tracks, how are we going to increase the train frequency when the lines get busier?

Alright, thanks bic. That's a relief. I just took a look at the CFRail website and it says the frequency should be every 5-10 min. Once the Lynx trip planner is up and running along side the rail lines, our public transit should improve by a lot. It's nice to not have to hunt down your transfers and coordinate it with the schedule by yourself.

Arrgh, you've got to be kidding me! We have to wait 20 years to get a train that comes every 15 minutes to an hour? Denver's light rail has only been around 7 years and they have stops every 4 minutes in some areas. Now they have plans to add 119 miles of track to their existing 35 miles around the same time Orlando gets 60 miles of track that has trains come by ever 30 minutes to 2 hours! Later guys, I think I'll take the cold over this city's lackwit planning. =

I know it's old. I figured if I posted it here, someone would chime in on any REAL developments in the project. There is nothing on the web about it actually being underway, so my hope was that someone here would know about it. I hear the Maglev line in China can't even pay for itself though, so even if it were to come here, it wouldn't be very feasable, at least for a few decades.

Man, I really want the new Mag-Lev trains to make it to CFL. I'm sure someone must have already posted this, but if not here it is. http://faculty.washington.edu/jbs/itrans/fmaglev.htm
  6. Oh, you'll definitely see it from I-Drive. It's 18 stories and it's not that far back from the road.
  7. That sounds great, I want to visit Philly sometime. The biggest city I've been to is Miami, and their downtown has lots of nice buildings but is not pedestrian friendly.
  8. I like the "canyon" effect. It makes for good pictures. Plus, everything on the street level will come together once all the downtown condos are occupied and all the shops and restaurants are open.
  9. Actually that would be a perfect location for a Publix. Like it was stated earlier this area needs a grocery store, not just the little mini marts that sell stale food for double price. I know you were kidding about Target, but they do have a K-Mart just up the road and around the corner(Turkey Lake).
  10. Nice pics. On first glance, I actually thought they were taken in Europe.
  11. Elaborating on number 13 there, the Reunion Resort, I just took the grand tour recently. I must say, it is one incredible developement. 3500 condos and 1500 single-family homes built on 3 signature golf courses. One of the people working for the developer was saying they are going to be building a 36 story tower with 796 units. They are also supposed to have about ten building between 6-10 stories tall, not including the 12 story Reunion Grande.
  12. Is the Sage Resort still going up on Turkey Lake? Also I saw a sign right next to the Fountains on I-Drive for a high-rise called "Lake Eve Resort" or something of the sort. It looked like it would be over 15 stories.

Yes and the demand for rentals is high because of all the condo conversions that have happened in Orlando. Rents are supposed to go up almost 10% next year because of this.
  14. I would think they would want to get it done sooner. The Peabody is always at 100% occupancy when I check, same with Rosen Shingle Creek around the corner. There's always something going on at the convention center.
