  1. I'm excited about Vaughn Russell's opening at Riverplace, but I was hoping for some retail. I guess Ice Cream works as long as Spill The Beans remains.

I've not been impressed by the ice cream at Spill the Beans. Even if I parked in the parking space right in front of Spill the Beans, I'd still walk to the Marble Slab for ice cream. Personally, I don't understand the draw unless its the coffee.

  2. Nice shot. I thought you got some stars in there too, which I was truely impressed with until I realized I needed to clean my monitor......

That's funny, there were some stars out this morning, so I immediately thought I didn't notice them in the shot... until I saw the second part of your statement.

  3. There are so many people all over downtown with cameras that I gave up thinking I'd spot any of the UP members quite a long while ago. ^_^

I don't know about that Skyliner. If we knew what each other looked like, you might be surprised. I've run into RT more times that I can count while walking around downtown with a camera. :shades:

  4. I made it there. I have a couple of photos to upload, but I'm away from the house on my blackberry right now. Hope this works, since its my first try using the BB.

The turnout looked pretty good. I was there with my niece at around 11:00. From what I saw, they really were not highlighting the improvements as much as just having a general open house. Of course they had the season ticket seat "test drives" an there was a bit of food out.

When I get back to the house, I'll put up a photo or two.

  5. OK, maybe its just me, but, who will buy a condo in the most congested area in Greenville? Talk about being trapped at home from Thanksgiving to New Year's.

Maybe with a restructuring of the intersection and the addition of a new interchange, congestion might ease up a bit. As this project, ICAR and South Financial grow, that will more than saturate any improvements. I'm usually the optimistic one here, but I don't like it. :(

Somebody please change my mind. I want to like it.

  6. I suspect this is what John B. was stating was brewing with retail on Woodruff (see the Journal Thread). This is actually GREAT news for the Magnolia Park site.....a property that sold for 37 million a little over a year ago has now sold for 52 million to a HIGH END development company.:thumbsup: See the link to Menin and look at "Downtown at the Gardens"

This site is going to be great!!! Notice that the Rooms to Go and Costco properties were sold separately. This can now be totally high end shopping. John B. knows whats going on.

On County Square, I thought that was a go, so bummer on that. Looks like we'll have old ugly County Square hanging around a little longer.

    Now THIS I like.

  7. Update: The apartments are starting to get going now. The club house for them has been framed up. Also one of the elevator shafts for the apartments is around 50 ft tall now. Drive by and take a look at it. It appears the apartments will be of considerable height judging by the height of the elevator shaft. You wont miss em. The publix had the first layer of asphalt put down the other day and it is progressing nicely. Im hearing sometime in June as the open date for the Publix. Just thought i would let you know some of this unless you have not heard it.

Thanks for the update erm!
