I walk by this building every day… it seems to be taking an extraordinarily long time to complete the exterior.
Between the sidewalk closure here and at the Albion, walking along Division is a mess of switching back and forth which side of the street is open.- 5

CityNowNext has a comprehensive overview of 45 upcoming towers climbing 15 to 60 stories in downtown Nashville:

It’s great to see a bunch of residential buildings being proposed with fewer parking spaces than they have units. And virtually all of the listed residential buildings have fewer spaces than bedrooms. That will build a constituency to advocate for better transportation in the core.- 9

I'd also like to see the stretch of First between Church and Broadway to be cobblestoned completely and closed to motorized traffic (maybe with bollards at Church/Broadway to allow for truck deliveries during early hours of a day and food trucks at certain times/days. Make that whole block overlooking the river for al fresco dining/drinking. I remember visiting Koln, Germany twenty years ago, and the riverfront was filled with patio dining areas... really cool. There's so much that could be done. When I look at the tax zone set up for the Titans' new dome, I wonder why that couldn't be done along 2nd Avenue and in other areas that could really benefit from such investment.
This seems like such a great way to improve river activation without spending almost any money- 4

Every time I see this building, it’s crazy to me how much above-ground parking they are building given the insane amount we are seeing built underground.

This sign is outside Albion’s leasing center this week. Seems very contrary to the super-luxury positioning for the building.

Keep in mind that the site has a lot of horizontal constraints, one of which is NRHP-listed. There's practically no room to widen the bridge and the only candidate for clawing back width is the TWLTL which leads to some awkward lane shifts/tapers.
What's frustrating here is that at the time this was in the planning stages the Hyatt had not yet been built and the Tennessean's building was still standing. There could have been an opportunity to grab some extra ROW to the north at least.
I don’t think the road needs to be any wider, but seven lanes for what is a backbone road of downtown seems excessive.

12th Avenue South bicycle lanes continue being built, now south of Wedgwood Ave.
Looking north from intersection of 12th Ave. South and Acklen Ave:

I hope this is a huge success so that it can come to 8th Ave S and some streets downtown.

Got the email releasing the first units for the upcoming HYVE building on 7th Ave S. The email describes them as “STR-ready” with furnished units available.

Nashville ranks 6th in the nation in the number of apartment units added in the downtown core since 2013.
Nashville, TN lands on the sixth spot nationally for the number of new units added to its downtown – over 11K apartments over the past decade. Looking strictly at the expansion of its downtown living situation, Nashville performed best among the country’s largest 100 cities. The 11K apartments added over the last decade represent almost 80% of the area’s total apartment inventory. Moreover, an additional 4,800 apartments are currently under construction.

Bike lanes are being added on 6th Ave S. this week, between Division and Oak St/Bass St/Fort Negley Blvd. In the 3-4 blocks, it looks like it will change between single- and double-striped lines.
(Don’t mind the electric pole obstructing the middle of the sidewalk)- 7

Pedestrianizing 1st Ave just has huge potential. Imagine cafes opening up toward the river and a huge linear park along the river. I was disappointed that didn’t seem to be part of the 2nd Ave recovery plan.

I don’t really understand how the Davidson numbers are the way they are when it feels like thousands of units have been coming online in the central city alone. I mean, from my balcony in the Gulch, it seems like I can see like 1000+ new units from just the last couple years. People must be moving into them or the market for more would be softening. Are there parts of the county that are emptying out?
