As a former public school educator in both Nevada and California (Social Studies), I find it fascinating that a state testing program would test you on such specific, explicit details that most adults probably wouldn't be able to identify. At a curiosity, were you required to take state-level exams for every course of study? Feel free to PM me because I am genuinely interested to learn more.
  2. Many thanks for the extremely well written and insightful post. The brand launch video was interesting. In a way, I guess I understand what they were trying to accomplish. I see what you mean about the 1990s naïveté. I couldn’t imagine having to work and walk around in those huge hats they made the female staff members wear in the video.
  3. I don’t want to take the thread off topic, but is there a reason they had those crazy designs on their planes back then? My first long haul flight ever was on British Airways from SFO in 1999 and the plane I took to London had this Totem Pole design on its tail, and my flight home had fish on the tail.

Hi all, I flew in last night from Costa Rica and noticed that when going through customs American and Canadian passports were sent to one line, and foreign passports were sent to a different line. Is that a policy/program specific to Charlotte? Are Canadians no longer considered foreigners? I’ve never seen such a thing before elsewhere.
  6. And where exactly do you expect Delta to expand to once the new concourse opens? They will have the same number of gates in the new concourse as they do today…the new concourse isn’t solely a Delta facility. CLT will never be anything than a decent-sized spoke in the Delta network. They only increased their size here once the merger with Northwest was closed; before the merger, their service was only 7-8 flights a day to Atlanta on MD80s and 3-4 flights a day to Cincinnati on regional jets. I can’t see us getting a SkyClub either. I understand that there was a rendering posted somewhere displaying a club in the new concourse, but it’s unclear whether that rendering received Delta’s blessing, as it was quickly removed. An old buddy of mine used to work in the revenue department for the company (he left immediately before the pandemic) and I asked him about the photo. His response was that he didn’t think Charlotte had the premium traffic to warrant a club, but the company was looking into opening modular “pop-up” clubs at smaller outstations, and he could see Charlotte potentially getting one. This was all pre-pandemic, of course.
