It’s the end of an era. OC’s first Radio Shack will soon be its last:

Sad, it was my Radio Shack for years, but sort of cool about the time circle of its existence. Mind you my partner was the techie in the household so I would show up there by myself with something written on a Post-It and give it to them. It usually worked out.

Anyone seeing the reddit threads about Radius and mold?

Boy this resident just saved me a lot of typing. Being one of the first residents in that building I can validate EVERY SINGLE THING brought up is true. EVERYTHING. I signed up in July 2021. It’s a new building right? What could go wrong? (See above) Actually met someone who installed my kitchen cabinets and was told they were the cheapest. Luxury living? W/D, which were cheap to begin with, were water spotted like them were left out in the elements at one point. The luxury fridge, much to small to fit in the space built for it, had stainless steel coating on the outside which had jagged edges that actually drew blood at one point so I took a file and took care of that myself. I never got to take a bath because the tub stopper didn’t work and after 2 visits from the terrible rude maintenance guy and him leaving saying he would be back and the work order being closed I gave up. And on and on and on…

Well I guess I ended up typing a lot anyways. A bad experience from start to finish. I feel cheated. But that’s on me. Just moved out. Good riddance to that good looking on the outside dump.

I notice the signs for "Duck and Drake", or I guess just "The Drake", are now up. (sorry no pics)

Prior to his public announcement he said he thought he'd be in by Christmas.  I guess he has met the City's building department and now realizes that ain't gonna happen.

Regardless, whenever it happens, this is a GREAT get for the area.

  4. Hmm…putting some money in one of Orlando’s oldest and historical buildings huh?

Well let me open this link so I can see  how loving, classic, and respectful the few sparse buildings of our city are thought of and…OH MY GOD!!!…it looks like the Wonderworks building or something drove up from International Drive and puked on it!

    Seriously, really? C’mon…

My question is: why would you want to sit outside on a blistering hot concrete patio in this miserable July heat and humidity, drinking hot tea anyway?

There's got to be a nice, cool 7-Eleven  nearby where you can get an icy cold Big Gulp (full of tea if you prefer) where you can relax and enjoy...

True. I'll make sure that I sit in the Radius's EPCOT Morocco Pavilion inspired landscaped plaza in the morning before the sun crests over the building, next to the plaza sculpture. Oh yeah scratch that. Never mind.

I think this is from 2008.

    .

Question from the 2008 picture (and you have to zoom in for this): Does anyone know what the green building on the left after the Landmark parking garage housed? At the time of the pic some sort of office I guess because of the sign out front. Thank you.

I was wondering what once was there where now my doggie goes poo, the Radius dog walk with a waste baggie station is in that area presently. And if any Radius people are reading this, just to let you know, I pick up every time.

Radius people will appreciate the significance of that statement.

…Most if you will never know what the fragrance of thousands of acres of orange blossoms in the spring was like, but it was something unique to only a few places in the world, including us.

I worked for the Mouse House 1983-89 starting when I was 17. In the beginning my drive to the Disney employee parking lot would take me off I4 at LBV, past the construction site of the Grand Cypress, and down winding roads through orange groves to the back of Disney property.

I do miss those couple times a year I would driving those roads and rolling down the window, taking in that heavenly fragrance…ahhhh…the word “heavenly” doesn’t do that smell justice.
