  1. And yet at the end of the day, the money that funded the revote on the HSR wasn't from Floridians, but all the parks in Orlando (Universal and Sea World)that were tweaked because Disney got its way on the proposed alignment. More importantly, without a light rail system in Orlando to tie into the proposed system, it was going to be hurting in Orlando anyway.
  2. Maybe county, Maybe state...We'll see

    Malls

Good idea, other than the target audience though, who will wander in there? That entire section of the mall is one big dead zone (I'm in that mall 2 or 3 times a week and I didn't even realize that that was open.)

    Malls

First, they need to fill in the second floor area near Parisean before considering anything else. Ever since I've been in town (2002) that area has been a dead zone, except the area right in front of the escalators. Also, there are still a couple of holes that need to be filled in the rest of the mall (Garnet & Gold location in the food court and the former Sound Advice).
  6. Sweet, plus all of this will be done before step one is done on Gaines St.

    Malls

As a matter of fact, they're in the process of doing so as we speak. I might have to break down and join after I graduate in December (If I stay in town)
  8. I'm not holding my breath. Being from the part of the country that Gannett got its start (and still owns a large number of the papers) It's just gonna be more of the same.
  9. I walk by there 3 or 4 times a week. they've been working on this for about a month. FSU has no issue because 1)They're reusing the building 2) The zoning is still the same (similar use) 3) It fits in with their plan for student oriented businesses (but no condos for faculty members) 4) from the looks of it, there's no additional parking. Because of 1 and 2, FSU can't complain about it
  10. As much as I like seeing buildings reused, putting a Circle K and a burrito place in the old Bill's across from FSU on Copeland is not what I had in mind. Maybe I saw some condos on that corner instead, with something else on the ground floor. Well, at least there's no gas pumps or parking lot being put in, so that's a plus.

    Malls

it's not "in" the mall, just attached to the mall. Still, I agree with you that it makes the mall look downscale, although it is convenient for me, since I live on John Knox and don't have to drive across town anymore
