A return trip to the top of Rockefeller Plaza (30 Rock, RCA, or the GE - its all the same)... NOVEMBER 1, 2005 The model of the RCA building, similar to the model of the ESB... 1. ___ The Empire State Building, bathed in my favorite color, blue... 2. 3. 4. The view up here will be even more spectacular when the BofA is completed, lending its spire to the cityscape... 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. Another attraction is the laser show at the Top of the Rock. I don't remember seeing one like it in the city since they had it at the original WTC... 12. 13. Truly one of the best views in the city... 14. Last one out, turn out the lights... 15.

A great gift to skyscraper lovers has reopened - the deck at the top of Rockefeller Plaza. Closed since the 80's, it has returned as what will no doubt be one of New York's "do not miss" attractions. Everyone who visits the city should make it a priority, but until then, here are some pics taken earlier today... NOVEMBER 1, 2005 We began in a glass-roofed elevator, a hint of the spectacle to come... 1. A glimpse of what awaits outdoors... 2. The view of Central Park... 3. It's the motherland of the skyscraper, so should we expect any less?... 4. Somehow, I just can't get King Kong out of my mind when I see this view... 5. 6. 7. It's a view that will eventually be dominated by the BofA tower... 8. Perfect spot for a lunch break... 9. Some of the new additions to the city's skyline... 10. 11. 12. 13. The GM, two Trumps, IBM, Sony (ATT), and the Bloomberg...what more could you want?... 14. Meet me on the roof... 15. 16. 17. 18. The reviews are in, and they are great! 19. I call this one "old lady and a skyscraper"... 20. Even mayor Bloomberg stopped by for the opening...(he also happened to return at night - along with the Bloomberg/Ferrer armies waiting on the street. What a day for an opening...) 21. 22. I could hear the speeches at the mayor's press conference, but who cares about speeches with the Citicorp looking so fine?... 23. That's it for the day pics...

Other than skyscrapers, NY is known for its great bridges. Like the subways, the bridges help tie the city together....Its one of the reasons I think the East River bridges should remain free of tolls...
