  1. I'm pleasantly surprised to see this "loop" approach coming together. I've always assumed Tri Rail Coastal Link (or whatever the FEC service would eventually be called) would not connect the two tracks and would compete for funding with the western line.
  2. I've said this before about DeSantis and his MAGA minions and I'll say it again. Any wacky beliefs you have are yours to hold, but when they have real world impacts, to include harming vulnerable minority groups and bad economic side effects, they become everyone's problem. These MAGAfied freaks need to be shown the door before they ruin Florida's economy entirely. It might already be too late for Florida's reputation.
  3. I don't see parks / Imagineering moving to Connecticut, where Disney has zero presence, even if the business climate is friendlier. Man, I thought Rick Scott was bad until this stuffed suit took up residence in Tallahassee. The first point may apply to some people. The second point isn't true. Either way, Meatball Ron really bungled this.
  4. Going after some of that CHIPS Act funding. https://teamorlando.org/bridg-hosts-commercial-fab-facilities-chips-nofo-meeting-at-neocity/
  5. Got it. I really hope they put in something unique or court a nice grocer. The low end of the market is more than adequately covered in the immediate area with Bravo and Wal Mart. Publix solidly fills out the middle. Now we need the higher end served.
  6. I think I missed this in the design images you shared, assuming it is shown. Can you point it out? Or, do you mean right behind the office building as one turns onto Tavistock Lakes Blvd. from Narcoossee Rd.?
  7. The Greenlink may offer an alternative to driving. I believe the only vehicles allowed on it will be Beep AVs, with the emphasis being on enabling pedestrians and cyclists (though this being central FL, I'm sure there will be a lot of golf carts sneaking in). It will link Town Center to the Village Center in Laureate Park, where Canvas is. Beyond that, expanded Beep service could run on Tavistock Lakes, Laureate Boulevard, and maybe even Lake Nona Boulevard. But sharing the road with slower moving AVs seems to break the suburban brains of most drivers, so I'm not betting on that. Maybe if the Beep achieves 25 mph there will be less illegal passing and so on.
  8. Interesting. I heard a rumor that the reason they're doing all-wood construction in the Weslyn Park subdivision of Sunbridge is that the land owners also own substantial timber land. That might just be a conspiracy theory though. Regardless, I don't think I'd feel comfortable with no block.
  9. Do you mean Sunbridge or is The Ranch something else? The medical building and associated retail space attached to the Lake Nona Performance Club is nearing completion. So I'm hoping for some "activation" resulting from that. Beyond that, Tavistock's standard reply at HOA meetings and workshops is "we're taking our time to make sure we get it right". So, it's not dead, but it's also not progressing as quickly as many (myself included) might like.
  10. Just what is the gays' "lifestyle" in your view? Mere existence? Seriously, your post reflects the totally unhinged nature of the MAGA-perverted Republican party. An educator does not "become a groomer" through simple acknowledgement of the existence of LBGTQ people. Nor do gay or transgender parents or the parents of a gay or transgender students interfere with some inalienable right of other parents to be bigoted when they participate in public life, to include in public schools. But that's what this is really about. MAGA types have had enough of stewing in their hatred and tolerating others. Consequently, they love a "Big Daddy DeSantis" to come in and tell all the nasty gays to pack their "lifestyle" back into the closet where it belongs. That's the real REACTION.
  11. Part of the reason I want these jobs to move here is to counter that very right wing trend. In a sense I want these people to help "California my Florida". We've certainly imported enough right-wing types at lately and we need some balance.
  12. Keep in mind that Narcoossee runs along the eastern border of Lake Nona and is not itself Lake Nona, nor are any of the hanger-on neighborhoods across it. There's still some hope for the elements you mention depending on how the remaining development goes. Laureate Park is markedly more compact than most barrel tile-topped box house subdivisions. It could still turn out to be (relatively) good.
  13. Well, it's a free country and nobody is obligated to work at a particular place of employment. They can show their true disdain by leaving the company as you've indicated some have and others will. If they have deep ties to California or are just plain disinclined to move to Florida, I don't blame them for moving on. If Disney proceeds with the move they will find alternative talent to fill the positions these folks vacate.
  14. There's no "tax avoidance". It's pure Fox News propaganda that this will lead to Disney "paying their fare share" where they weren't before. But whatever, at least it didn't stop the Lake Nona move.
