First time poster, long time lurker.
I've lived in First Wards Garden District for a few years and following Silver Line news (mainly here) closely.
Looking back at the development Uptown, Stonewall corridor had major water main upgrades (and sewer) that were done before the huge development boom happened. Also, a ton of empty / nearly empty blocks available which made things easier.
The combination of Silver Line with the massive open blocks of land in First Ward, I believe this stretch of Uptown could see a similar construction boom once Silver Line is funded.
Heck! I see portions of Garden District getting redeveloped in that same wave.
My question is on the hidden infrastructure side...
Does 11th St corridor need similar water/sewer upgrades?
I cannot find much on future projects for Charlotte Water, but I did find that the Stonewall corridor work is actually still in progress towards Midtown ( https://charlottenc.gov/Projects/Pages/BaxtertoStonewallWastewater.aspx )
Maybe someone here has more info on the future Charlotte Water work in this area of Uptown?
