This is so ridiculous, the Riverbluff they want to protect was destroyed longtime ago. If they were really about protecting the Bluffs, most of which are still accessible, they would've had that ugly parking garage and fire station moved. I could understand the outcry if it was a private hotel/ condo/ office building being developed. But its a public art gallery. I get the felling they want a "under the table" deal.

Update on the Grand Hyatt

No way any historic buildings are touched for a 200 room hotel. Considering there's other alternatives like the land near Hard Rock Cafe or the huge parking lot on MLK or even locating it further down Beale near Church Park and SugaShack.

Thought Cordova near Gtown Pkwy was ideal, to compliment Wolfchase, Main Event etc. or maybe Uptown but at least we're getting one.

That's good news for now, thought it would've been the other way around, so they'll be looking for more office space soon.

I have a hard time seeing this happen, from Downtown to Stanton, the cost could run from $750 million to $5 billion and we know how the State votes. This will likely end with MATA sending buses out there and TDOT adding lanes to I-40.
