Does anyone know if the early college near the light rail station was still going to be built? I have a feeling that is why they are cutting the trees down.

Is this from the 2010 census or some kind of a guess based on voter or tax data?

Here's a pic from the top from WSOC
(Also this isn't the thread but the best thrift shop in town had a fire today as well)

I went to the UNCC/NC State game and there were a ton of open seats. At least one section had no one there.

I'd like he opportunity to say I do not like this installation bolted to the ground. It looks like a warped bench that you can't sit in from the ground.

You are correct the townhomes on the Cabarrus side will sell more quickly at higher values. Harrisburg and Cabarrus county schools are sought after.
Not only that, but Hickory Ridge High (the closest high school) is already overcrowded. They probably had to negotiate just to be able to put that many townhomes on the Cabarrus side.

A new development has just been announced near Brookdale, on Rocky River Road, by the I-485 exit. Situated on the border between Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Counties.
It's called Farmington, by MPV Properties.
From the article from The Charlotte Observer: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/development/article131005184.html
▪ 300 townhouses.
▪ 275 apartments.
▪ 120 units of “active senior” housing.
▪ A 120-room hotel.
▪ A 14-screen movie theater.
▪ A total of 200,000 square feet of retail space.
▪ A total of 160,000 square feet of office space, including medical offices.
I think this is a good change of pace in the development in the area (hundreds upon hundreds of single family homes on a half acre of land).

Here's a short clip of port-a-potties being moved around the job site.

The station is coming along very well on UNCC's campus.

Here's some pictures, Denny has been gutted, a new generator or air system is being built in front of Burson, Lot 5 and 6 have some sort of piping being installed, pipes are also being put under the bridge between the Union and Lynch, and the rail line is coming along great. I'll post the rain pics in both threads. Also, the old miner statue looks really good in its new spot.

Well how about these then?
(Just imagine the the new buildings are there)

Can I steal this and add in texture and Windows?
Yeah you can! Do you just want the sketchup file as well?

Personally, I like this design. I'm not sure why but i sorta like the aesthetics. I quickly threw together a very rough 3D model so I could tell how it would look with the rest of the skyline.
(The colors were only for contrast and I can't remove the Observer building)

I know the testing has been going on for some time, but last night I saw a test train at the UNCC station. (The pics are blurry because I was trying to get closer with half of the sidewalks closed)
