I agree, but I've given up for now on the height thing because it's beating a dead horse at this point. This will still be the most beautiful high rise in the city regardless.

My guess for the LED lights being so dim is due to the Encore tower next door. They probably anticipated a lot of whining from the residents if they were too bright.
That's what blackout shades are for.

i'm the biggest "height or die" person out there, but a little more height on this one (even though it seems we're not really sure where it's going to end up) would just be lovely!
I'm with you on this, but regardless it will be the best looking highrise in the skyline. It really won't even be close, imo.

It's a bit of a weird deal. 2AP got approval from the city to slightly change the design and build without the land...but they're now willing to wait even longer for a court date before starting.
This tells me that more than anything, they are in no huge hurry to start...and that they were trying to entice the seller to go ahead and sell by acting as if they would build without the land, basically making that land useless for future buyers. How the seller knew to call their bluff is beyond me.
The little sliver shouldn't even be a make or break in this. It'll be the owner of that little piece that takes a huge hit if he/she wants to keep being a jackass. Build this thing with or without it, it's time for the other party to "call the bluff" considering they're the ones in control of the situation.

All subjective, of course, but I'd have to disagree. The RSA Battlehouse Tower is indeed a lovely tower, but the Nashville skyline overall is in another universe than Mobile's, in my opinion. It'd be like comparing Nashville's skyline with Chicago's.
Yeah I'm exaggerating a little with a tad of sarcasm lol.

That's sad when a 3 high rise skyline looks better than Nashville's very own.

Anywhere else, yes! But along Broadway, that would dampen the effect of the bright neon lights. I really think it'd be a mistake to "pretty up" Lower Broadway too much.
Eh, a few cherry blossoms wouldn't hurt. Imho, Nashville should take a page from D.C. and plant a bunch of those along the river.

I went to a sounds game recently and overheard someone talking about hotels in Nashville. They actually said they thought this building was ugly and that the Westin looked good. I almost punched them.
My guess is he was wasted.

This is great. Wish the buildings were a bit taller, but it seems we'll be stuck with a Vancouver skyline for awhile. Glad this is happening.
Definitely agree with the Vancouver comparison. The only difference being Nashville having better looking buildings, yes I said it lol.

First off, GO PREDS!!!!! WCF baby!!!!
Anyways;
Took the family down to the Preds Plaza today for the game at 5th & Broadway. Had to take the stroller for a lap at one point. This is what I saw.
6th Ave looking west
Looking to east at Bridgestone from Demonbreun near 6th.
Looks to be the final roofline curtain wall going up on Bridgestone
Looking north at 505 from 5th near the plaza. Notice all the fans on the plaza cheering on the Preds
That last shot of 505 is fantastic. Fancy crown or not, that building will look beautiful when completed under its current plan. It has a very strong presence.

I love this development, everything about it. I think it would also have looked great in the gulch.

We do not need to rebuild an entire new stadium from scratch. We have been investing in the current stadium over the past few years (new technology, new seats, new scoreboards). We should do what the Miami Dolphins did at Hard Rock Stadium and just renovate the current one.
Gotta agree with this. Also, in terms of stadiums being old, Nissan stadium is just a pup so why destroy it? It wouldn't be that difficult to add anything else to it.

I was home in July and this was not above ground.
That's insane. Just took a look back through the thread and it looks like foundation work wasn't completeled until September '16. That's 19 floors in roughly 7 months.

I know Skyhouse is more floors, but which project averaged faster? This thing flew up.

Looks like Fort Lauderdale, Florida is getting their own guitar shaped Hard Rock Hotel. They beat us.. Darn.
I actually like that. The only thing that would make it sweeter would be to extend the fret and put a headstock on it for an observatory.

I believe Waller is midway into a ten year lease at Nashville City Center with options for five additional years. Theoretically, they could have a new building done and ready by the time their lease expires. That said, I'd bet my next paycheck that somebody at the architectural firm was called onto the carpet for letting those renderings out.
I don't see why it's such a big deal. It's not like it's some new supertall that's gonna blow everybody's mind.

How far in the future are they eyeing for a structure? They would be better off leaving it a grassy area until then instead of having to break through some asphalt if a structure is indeed their plan.
