Can’t wait to see the site go back up for sale next year. This site is beyond cursed. Crows won’t even visit it.
It has attracted so many naysayers, critics, pessimists, Debbie downers, negative Nancies on this site…for many years. It’ll be impossible to replace the spotlight it’s had.

What happened to the proposed soccer stadium?
They kicked it around… decided it wasn’t going to happen?

Agreed. I basically lived at the second version of Greenville Mall (when it was upscale) but the one time when I did try to go to Magnolia Park, it took over an hour to get from I-85/Woodruff to and through the Magnolia Park parking lot and to the Woodruff/Verdae Blvd. intersection. Never again.
Nothing on the Magnolia Park directory is alluring enough to deal with that hassle.
LOL…wait till you you visit Bridgeway Station (completed)…there’ll be a tie with the worse traffic & access issues.

Crane coming down today which means no more tower cranes downtown for a while. Sad.
That’s ok…they were cluttering up the skyline & hiding attractive buildings.
Wait a minute…they were responsible for the attractive buildings (exception The McClaren). Hope new cranes appear again soon …

I’m not sure I understand this particular location for this concept. But, I hope it’s successful.
Corner of Woodruff Rd & anywhere would be better….IMO

I’m actually hoping for Alaska Airlines. I know…hopes and dreams.
LOL…There’s too many homeless people camped along Main St (front of CVS & Sticky Fingers), empty retail/restaurant spots, & really ugly store fronts for Alaska Airlines …so hope & dream on. -
Wife & I trekked Main St. today (from one end to the other)…was surprising & amazing to see multitudes walking as well…on a Monday holiday in February!
I was really disgusted (again) with the continued bad appearance of the exterior of a prominent structure. It’s pathetic an ugly exterior continues to be present on an otherwise very attractive Main St.- 4

I'm suggesting doing the same type of project but in Greenville on that property.
Sorry…read incorrectly.

YMCA and First Baptist join to partner in Project Aspire
I've long thought a project like this would be ideal for the Stone family property south of County Square. The land is quite large, the topography can 'hide' several floors of mid or high rise buildings. It is centrally located and within walking distance of the West End and short driving distance to Prisma.
Uhh….Asheville??

None of the surroundings on Holland Rd really tie in with this development.
It kind of reminds me of Greenville County's own little version of Heritage USA. I keep looking for a Jim and Tammy billboard to pop up over on 385 next to it.

I got an idea. Why don't you two put your money together and build a huge project.
....that involves a really tall tower crane

Yeah. They’re shooting for an August or September start date currently.
Will site preparation begin prior to groundbreaking?

Here is info on the 49 “affordable” units:
https://livemcclaren.com/mcclaren-affordable-guidelines/
My 3 bedroom/2 bath house in Mauldin which was built brand new in 2018 and gains equity costs less per month than their studio affordable apartment units which gains no equity. Just a little FYI there. Look at the bright side though. At least it’s a beautiful looking building.
From a distance….

This project isn’t going to get approved. There are just too many people on social media against it. Sad. Wish all of these NIMBY’s would move back to Asheville. People just don’t seem to understand how this project would be a good thing. They just think it’s going to block out the sun and mountains while making traffic worse.
Yadda-yadda-yadda…

This sure has become a depressing forum lately. Sad.
Well….make some drone flights & post some (always) fine pics to change the scenery on here.

I thought the height limit was 12 stories. This looks taller than that. Or does the parking garage at the bottom of the apartments not count???
I’ll wager a structure of some apartment fashion is built before the same is erected on the “gateway” site

I’ve not seen any planning (or signs of construction) for road improvements in the vicinity of this project.

This new project(?) must be 6 feet under the ground…or it’s been cremated.

Just had adult beverages and lite fare in the Bohemian bar. High quality facility. Food and drinks are good but not life altering. I’ll return for the outdoor space but not superior to Halls, Urban Wren, Jianna, etc. But kudos on the building and the views.
LOL….’Food and drinks are good but not life altering.’
Probably best for us they aren’t- 1
