  1. Will be interesting to see the layout of whatever they propose. It looks like a very long narrow strip of land and that’s before they add set backs from the road for a sidewalk. Always thought the only thing that would fit there would be townhomes. Hopefully we’ll see something creative.

Speaking of which, if anyone wants to come down for a UP meet up, we will be at the new common market at 830pm tomorrow. I'm pretty recognizable look for this guy. Shouldn't be quite as sunburned or giving kissy faces.

Confession - For the first couple of years I followed UP, I thought ricky_davis_fan_21 was the lady in all the photos.

  3. McDonalds closed in the BB&T section of overstreet mall.  Anyone know what’s taking the spot?  I remember eating breakfast there 23 years ago waiting to go to my first interviews that brought me to Charlotte.  I got to downtown really early so I wouldn’t be late and that was the first place I found, but back then that was about the only place to get breakfast.

  4. My preference would be a quality mid rise and think that would blend much better with BB&T.  Ricky_davis_fan_21's comments under the ballpark thread is what got me thinking about this site.  I'm just concerned it will be a high rise to help defray the cost of the land and soil remediation.

  5. I keep hoping the block bounded by 3rd, 4th, Mint, and Poplar will see some redevelopment soon.  Does anyone know if the site is getting any interest?  It's such a prime spot beside Romare and BB&T ballpark.  It seems like in older threads there was discussion Ascent originally looked there, but didn't pick the site due to soil issues.  Will soil remediation increase the height of any development to offset the cost of soil remediation?
