  1. Ha I somehow forgot the most important airport in that comparison! I added just for comparison sake. It is odd that American didn't step up service to fill the void of those lost flights but neither airline has seemed pressed to add anymore flights. According to the article SWA added one additional daily flight but seems like it is going back down to 3 as of Nov 1. I travel to St. Louis a good bit for business and am very glad the direct to STL is coming back. The limited flexibility with flight options on SWA isn't fun. An additional interesting note for LIT; it seems in 2015, Delta is seeing about a 9% increase each month compared to 2014 while both SWA and AA are declining.
  2. You got me curious and I just did a quick look at some of those airports, I excluded MSY due to New Orleans just due to it's popularity (notoriety?) compared to the other cities. I was surprised to see that Albuquerque had alot more movement that I would have guessed, between TUL, OKC and ABQ, Little Rock has by far the least PAX movement. I noted all 4 airports I looked at had a YTD decrease in PAX movement compared to 2014 and the couple of months of 2015 data I looked at saw a 5% decrease for OKC in SW movement for July and a 9% decrease for ABQ SW movement in June. Seems the Wright Amendment is affecting more than just LIT. Plane Movement As Architect pointed out I left off the most important airport! LIT has been added for comparison.
  3. Thanks for the article. The decline is frustrating for the LR airport and Central Arkansas. I love flying and I usually fly 6-8 times a year for business and pleasure and I would like to see new routes open but I know until demand grows that won't happen. Between my wife and I we have flown out of the airport about 10 times this year, with another 4 or 5 trips to go; I would love to have more flexibility for leaving but that is just how it goes. Hopefully the trend starts to reverse itself and we get some new routes in the coming months/years. I am glad that are going to renovate the main terminal soon, it is much needed.
  4. Yeah I don't imagine it taking long to be in use. My parents live just off Rahling and hate all the work going on, they are trying to sell their house within the next year before it gets worse.
  5. Does anyone know what is being built on Rahling road between Cantrell and Chenal? I know they are widening the road to 4 lanes so that the whole stretch is the same.
  6. They have placed the Slim Chickens coming soon sign at the corner of Mississippi and Cantrell. I don't know when construction will start, it appears the road crew is using the lot to store some of their equipment, maybe they are waiting for the road to finish up? I live pretty close to this intersection and love Slim's so I'm excited for the food but afraid of what this will do to my waistline.
  7. Thats good news! I always love new additions to the market. I have never been to one but my wife loves the Melting Pot.
  8. I have to agree, this seems like an odd decision. My wife likes to shop at H&M when we are traveling but she was disappointed to hear that it was coming to Conway. For us, there is nothing in Conway for the drive to be worth just visiting one store.
  9. Beginning next week Rock street will be closed to begin work on the parking deck at the corner of Rock and Clinton ave. To get to the library parking lot you will have to use 2nd street.
  10. A dave and busters would be great if they can get it here. I have been to several around the country and always end up having a really good time.
  11. The demolition of the shopping center at mississippi and cantrell has started. http://imgur.com/kN6Ezto
  12. Yes that is right. I know the owners of that pizza shop, that was located in the shopping center, moved out do to the coming change.
  13. I agree! Some good news is better than bad news. I hope the airport can continue to find new routes. I did notice they have a sign up at the airport indicating $20.6 million in terminal renovations coming by fall 2016, I think this is badly needed. The terminal past the security checkpoint is very outdated.
  14. I live in the area and I agree; the stretch from the cantrell/mississippi intersection to hughes just looks bad. I know construction contributes to that but seems that will never end. I hope something is done with these buildings. I am glad something is coming in with the addition of slim chickens; I have heard it is going to be a corporate store so hopefully it is pretty nice.
