  1. An interesting project is going before the Bryant Development Review Committee at this Friday's meeting. A group headed by the Arkansas Heart Hospital is proposing building a large 4 story hospital and adjacent physicians office building in the vacant area on the north side of I-30 and south of Highway 5 between Springhill Road and Hurricane Creek. Renderings Site Plans Also, 10 Fitness is presenting plans for construction of a new gym facility roughly 1 mile south of their current location (Proposed location is between O'Riley's Auto Parts and First Security Bank on Reynolds Road). 10 Fitness Plans
  2. Looks like Chili's may be on the move. A recent plumbing permit places the address as 12505 West Markham. Google says that's the Parker Mini location, but looking at the neighboring numerical addresses, this looks more likely to be the old Luby's Cafeteria building about 1/2 block further east. I'm guessing this is a relocation of the Rodney Parham location??? http://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/eng/planreview/PLUMB/102049.htm
  3. Saltgrass Steakhouse also has a permit that just posted for 10 Anglers Way. I'm going to guess this is in the new development area currently being cleared behind Bass Pro. Can't find specifics on that address, but the name would fit the area.
  4. Could this be the hotel development approved by the planning commission back last June for Rahling Circle on the hill across Chenal from the Promenade? Documents called for a 5 story 106 room hotel fronting Rahling Circle and overlooking the Promenade. With the new spur going up the hill from Chenal at the entrance to the Promenade, it would have easy access to both the shopping center and surrounding office parks. 5. Looks to be a 3 building development at the intersection of the north I-30 service road and the ramp leading from Reynolds Rd southbound (vacant lot between the roofing supply company and the Reynolds ramp). Looks to be a fast food restaurant along the service road to start with future development of a 18,000 sqft retail building and a 4,000 sqft medical office building. Starts on page 68 of the following link: http://cityofbryant.com/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Agenda/11142016-475
  6. Moses Tucker has placed a for sale sign on the lot previously slated for the Vibe Hotel project (6th & Cumberland). As rumored above, looks like this project is officially dead.
  7. I'll believe the new road and fire stations when the dirt starts moving. A bond/tax election has to be successful in August for either to happen. Bonds were previously approved in 2013 for fire stations, but someone made an error in the city's financials so they didn't have the money to cover the debt service on those bonds. The city lost a federal grant for a new station on Springhill @ Hilltop back around 2010, so their track record for getting new Fire facilities off the ground isn't too great. Given the opposition to the extension of Raymar to Hwy 183 by nearby residents combined with the current climate towards tax elections, the only chance the road has is if the Feds come through with a Tiger grant that has been applied for to fund this project. http://www.cityofbryant.com/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Item/1535?fileID=2608 -- Special Election Ordinance http://www.cityofbryant.com/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Item/1535?fileID=2607 -- Street Improvement Funding Priority
  8. Nike and Cole Haan hit the plumbing permit list overnight, so all of the loosely confirmed tenants seem to conform to the above list. I'm sure Nike at The Outlets will spell doom for the Promenade at Chenal location which will be a big hole for them to fill. Today's Democrat also had a story with the building permit status of many proposed tenants: http://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2015/jul/22/dozens-of-tenants-at-lr-outlet-mall-fil/?f=business One store I'm disappointed to not see represented is Columbia considering the outdoors nature of the market area. One of our favorite stops at the Outlet centers in Branson and the DFW area.
  9. I observed engineers pulling core samples from this property last Thursday. Here is an article from Saturday's Democrat supporting the above: http://www.nwaonline.com/news/2015/mar/14/new-lr-apartments-in-works-20150314/ The article states that MacArthur Commons should be open by summer, but it sure doesn't look far enough along to make that deadline. They only finished the roof two or three weeks ago.
  10. Not sure if we are totally missing out as I see at least one token MD80 flight to DFW when looking at a mid June schedule. I think the larger driver here is the shift from the 50 seat RJ's like the CRJ 200's and ERJ 145's to the larger RJ's such as the CRJ 900 and Embraer 175's. Looking again at mid June, the bulk of LR flights shift to CRJ 700's and 900's acquired from the US Airways merger. With AA bringing a ton of CR9's and ER175's on property later this year, much of the flow to/from short haul locations to the major hubs will be seeing this shift. As a former frequent traveler between LIT and IAH, I expect United to start dropping frequencies to LIT in favor of the larger RJ's once Skywest/Express Jet start taking delivery of their first batch of ER175's later this year. While I know I'm in the minority, I'm really going to miss the ERJ 145's on United and AA between LIT and IAH, DFW, and ORD. One of the best rides for the business traveler flying solo out there.
