  1. I don’t think you can put enough lipstick on that pig. Tearing it down for this design will be way better. I think we have all become somewhat jaded because we get these beautiful initial renderings and then they get VE’d to death I hope they can stay somewhat true to these. The interior Stairs remind me of the addition my hometown, Indy, did to their central library in 2007. They kept the original structure dating to the early 1900’s but made it more of a grand entrance. The modern addition in the back is similar to this and has become a community gathering place. It also has become a place for people to hold events. Check this wedding someone had there. i think this is great and will be an awesome addition to our community.
  2. A friend that works for a firm in the Design Center said their company announced a 5 yr lease extension shortly after the purchase. So I'm not sure I would look for a quick flip to all retail

  4. Why doesn't south end adopt more traffic circles? I was trying to turn from Dunavant onto Remount towards Souththe other day and it was near impossible. However, throw a circle in there and traffic flows. I am from a town in Indiana (Carmel) where virtually every intersection has been converted to a circle and it was amazing.
  5. I had friends that looked at renting those. They currently live in MP, sold their house and bought a new one in MP but are doing heavy Reno/demo, was a good way to stay close to their current hood. However, proximity was not worth the price and they rented elsewhere. I think these were originally planned as condos and could flip to them when that market returns.
  6. There is no better use of a rainy Saturday am than lurking the UP forums and daydreaming about weekend train trips to ILM via a rail hub like that. Le sigh.
  7. ^ This. If you look at the districts, that 15 home subdivision by Grandfather just off of Marsh and Park, just barely snuck into the preffered district of the $500k+ buyer. Zoning is why we left once we had our first kid. It's a shame because there is so much great development going on in SE and Sedgefield, but choices.
