  1. Perhaps the outdoor food court at the Boardwalk, if at all. I, too, would be surprised if it happened... never heard even the slightest peep about such until now. As for PF Chang's, they have been looking for a good location here for years. They had a location picked out years ago, on the site where Panera Bread and Panda Express now sit on Youree Drive. Why they backed out on such a stellar location, who knows. My guess is that, if they are coming, they will build in the new shopping center being built along with Whole Foods on 70th. For what it's worth, the thought of PF Chang's used to excite me. Now that I've eaten at PF Chang's in a couple of other cities and tried different things on their menu, I'm honestly not impressed at all. I'll stick with Imperial Cathay, Ming Garden, and other local establishments. What WOULD impress me would be The Cheesecake Factory. I've eaten at a few of them and love the hell out of them. Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro, though often mistaken by locals as "The Cheesecake Factory", is NOT a viable alternative. Copeland's is good, if you want that kind of food. But The Cheesecake Factory is on a whole different level altogether. One restaurant I'm really looking forward to, which should be nearing completion, is Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill. Having eaten at the original one in OKC numerous times, I love that restaurant. The food and atmosphere, and the very real chance to meet Toby, himself, as well as other famous musicians, is an added bonus. As for the high speed rail thing, I'm sure I've heard talk on this forum over the years of something like that between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. But it also makes sense to link Dallas and Atlanta along the I-20 corridor... Shreveport and Jackson would just be smaller benefactors along the way.
  2. This was on the agenda for today's Shreveport City Council meeting: RES 199A A resolution in support of the concept of an Atlanta/Jackson/Shreveport/Dallas high-speed rail system and to otherwise provide with respect thereto Supporting documentation: http://la-shreveport.civicplus.com/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Item/4253?fileID=4619
  3. I just noticed today that a WalMart Neighborhood Market is under construction on Shed Road in Bossier, across from Fred's and Stockwell Elementary School. I Googled this and discovered that there is also one planned for Old Minden Road in Bossier, just about 1/2 mile down East Texas Street from the Albertson's store.
  4. Emory would say develop it, but he's my yuppie city boy side. And he's not here right now to argue. But the rest of us aren't city boys and we say don't develop it. We enjoy fishing there.
  5. It's part of downtown, right by the convention center, strip club, and casinos. Nothing there and honestly would be a huge undertaking to make anything of the site. Shreveport lacks individuals with enough money and foresight to accomplish anything like this, so I don't see it ever happening. Besides, on those occasions where I feel like catfishing from the bank, that's one of my favorite areas. If not for the hobos living down there, it's quite a great natural resource. Let's not screw it up by urbanizing it... although as I said already, I don't see it happening, so I'm not at all worried about it.
