  1. BTW, forgot to add, something going in just to the east of the new Walmart NHM in Centerton, but wouldn't be surprised if it was just a Murphy's.  Also, more housing development starting to ramp up along the far west end of the Bentonville school district which will be served by the aforementioned West High school.  Pretty amazing how much stuff is going in here right now.

A gas station is the most likely to be put there.  It seems too close to the market to be anything else.  They must have wanted to get the market taken care of before focusing on the gas station part.

  2. Anyone have ideas on what's moving into the new strip mall on Airport Blvd/Walton (back away from the road, almost next to Guess Who)?  It actually looks better than most of the strip malls on Walton but I cringe at the thought of what that'll do to the already heavy traffic at that intersection.

Living in Vaughn, I am definitely NOT looking forward to that strip mall.  During rush hour, I typically wait through three stoplights before being able to turn onto Airport Blvd.  A second turning lane would be nice, but is near impossible without a ton of work.  That Community Center is already going to make that intersection more of a pain.

  3. Everything at the Family Dollar in Centerton is on sale since the store is "moving" and now I read that Dollar Tree has officially purchased Family Dollar.  Anyone think that that certain Family Dollar will change to a Dollar Tree?  A lot of what Dollar Tree carries isn't good quality, but they've also got a lot of items that are worth spending $1 for.

  4. Orange Leaf never impressed me.  They were never polite.  Didn't seem to care that much about customer service.  Just my experience.

I've never been much of a frozen yogurt fan, especially when it comes to places that specialize in it.  They're usually very pricey.

  5. It is another shopping center

They have laid out more dirt, so it does appear so.  There's another coming soon sign on the building on Airport Blvd across from the Walmart distribution center.  Now, it just says "Italian Grill" instead of it's previous "Roma Italian Grill."  If it's the same people, hopefully they shut it down previously so they could learn how to cook and also how to run a restaurant.  I was not impressed by either the food or the service the one and only time I went.

  6. Anyone know anything about what they are doing to the land in far Western Centerton across from the Centerpoint gas station on 102?  Didn't recall seeing anything being built yet, but there were tons of trucks on site currently fixing up the land.

Both. They are currently building a neighborhood market on the east side of town close to bentonville and they own 40 acres in the middle of town behind McDonalds that the post above refers to. They bought the 40 acres back before the recession hit.

Seriously??  That's going to be two supercenters and two Neighborhood Markets within a very close area of each other.  The link you provided isn't valid.  Is there any other proof that a Supercenter is going into that area?

  7. Comreguy, you are correct, I just don't view those as "solid additions". I would rather see multi-story, mixed use developments along Walton Blvd, with better planned access than tightly parked strip centers.

That's all South Walton is.  For the most part, it's just a bunch of strip centers.  Don't get me wrong, development is great, but there's only so much you can do with a strip center.

  8. Today, I saw a sign that said "CVS, coming soon" in front of a building on 14th street beside the new Walmart gas station.  I know that the location across the street is where the Walgreens is supposed to come in, but is a CVS also going near there?  The only one I heard was going in Bella Vista.

  9. What an odd place that would be for a distribution center.  This will be interesting to see develop.  Do you have a link for this?

bkern, again, with all the (water/sewer) pipe I'm seeing being laid between Vaughn (where that Bank of Gravett is going in) and Cave Springs Road, and knowing that Bentonville will in 5-10 years be over 1 1/2 times as big as it is now (with the growth coming largely from the aforementioned area), I'd say they're getting in to establish a presence early.

Yeah, I'd say they aren't too eager to get it built seeings how being this far out in Vaughn, the only customers they'd have would, for the most part be from the two apartment complexes out here and possibly the small housing area down near the Airport plaza.
