The community paper did a story around it a couple weeks ago.

The Auditorium at Howard Middle. The school is undergoing a huge renovation, but I noticed tonight as I drove by that the large Live Oak in front of the entrance which faces Robinson, was cut down. Incidentally, a cross street towards Mills, the block over from Howard middle, the condos are already under construction.

I love that this neighborhood still has several old houses. I wish that the city or another entity would historically zone some of them before they are all gone in this area.
While I don’t think that a law firm is the best use, it could be converted into some thing with which the public could interact more. When I lived in Charlotte, many of the old houses had been converted into bars, restaurants, coffee, shops, bookstores, Yoga, studios, etc. I liked the scaling and sense of history it brought to neighborhoods around the core of Uptown there.

The developers, I assume, also cut down the tall oaks on the corner of Michigan and Orange.
Bummer.
Something equally boooooooring....

Is it the older home next to the atrium office building? Are they tearing that one down? I thought that was part of the bumby Homestead.

Anyone know if they added a bike lane to the design? I can’t understand why they wouldn’t put one in with all of the bikers in the local community. The places they’re adding parking isn’t a big value add, a bike lane makes a lot of sense.
On Twitter I saw this alternative design by local urbaníste Sam Gallaher. He suggested sending these to the FDOT folks as a response to their adding of more street parking along both sides of Orange in front of Hammered Lamb area.

I don’t know your opinion on Parking minimums, but they generally can help encourage more people centered developments.

FDOT’s having a public meeting next Wednesday to discuss changes to N. Orange Ave (SR 527) from Magnolia to just north of Rollins St:

Here is a link to the plan, with an opportunity to respond to the lead in design from the FDOT. They do not have a dedicated/protected bike lane, and have increased amount of parking, which I think does a disservice to the area as the urbanism increases.

Some pictures from earlier today. The large open area is the now clear Southwest corner of Princeton and OBT. I couldn’t get a picture in my moving vehicle, but there are some condos being built it looks like behind the new YMCA and they’ve made a lot of progress. Also the old round juice stand on the northeast corner is built out.
