  1. Why didn't I see that option before? Here are a few photos I found on my drive that I thought to share with you all. Have a great weekend!
  2. What's the best way to share photos on here? I uploaded a few to Flikr and they're not acceptable for this forum...
  3. What exactly is a "Florida feel" mentioned regarding the architectural style? Overall, I'm excited for the potential of this development. I just hope it's something architecturally exciting to breathe life into the purported area.
  4. Brasilian tourists do love their shopping. Perhaps we'll get a Zara afterall. Hahaha!
  5. Thanks for posting this article! Like most of us, we'll remain cautiously optimistic with this project.
  6. More national light shines on the Metro Orlando area in relatively positive context via NPR's Morning Edition One-Way Tickets To Florida: Puerto Ricans Escape Island Woes
  7. Great work... I love the reflection off the Plaza's north tower.
  8. Yet more closings at the Mall at Millenia- FYE- not surprising as they're overpriced and have closed other area location. Zara- a disappointment. Though the store at the Florida Mall seemed to have a better seleciton and layout, I just prefer going to Millenia. I do hope they consider reopening in smaller space. NaHoku- yet another one of the original retailers to open in the mall. Beside TeaVana, two other stores (I forget which retailer they were) closed but are being taken over by the retailers listed above. Walking around the mall, there's quite a bit of buildout happening. While I'm sad to see some stores go, I think it may help the mall in the future.
  9. I too noticed this yesterday--- the whole of downtown was pretty busy yesterday. It was great to see that mix of activity!
  10. Thanks for that insightful review! I think I know a password...
  11. I hope to check it out... someday. Soon! What's available up there?
  12. Shame on NBA City. I'm not a fan of Levy foods (Wolfgang Puck in DTD was never the same after they took over), but I hope it's something good. It'll struggle until more pedestrian traffic makes its way to the northwest end of the Amway Center. It's a perfect time for The Magic to reveal their plans for the entertainment center across the street, our "L.A. LIVE" so to speak.
  13. Has anyone heard an update regarding the NBA CIty Club going into the west end of Amway Center? It seems like buildout began forever ago and still no completion--- similar to Aura Restaurant & Bar and Don't Tell Anyone Speakeasy.
  14. From the looks of things on "The Native" Facebook page, the bar will feature historic Orlando photos. If this is the case, I definitely love the concept of this venue. Now, hopefully it will be a more refined atmosphere than its predecessor.
  15. I'd welcome that building for the corner of Orange & Rosalind.
  16. "Sentinel Lofts" at a new mixed-use project on the property; I can see it now.
  17. I wasn't sure where to post this, but does anyone know what the status of the Monarch Tower and Montage projects is? The Monarch "sales office" always seems to be kept manicured, as if waiting to open. The Montage sign has been sitting on the corner of that lot for years and it seems the time is right for building an apartment tower in the area.
  18. Has that Barnie's Coffee Kitchen finally opened?
  19. Each time I pass the Church Street Station building, I envision a two-story Starbucks on that end, with patio seating on the second floor and greeting SunRail riders inside for a cup of morning fuel. Their siren would look so nice affixed to the cylindrical portion of the building.
  20. You know what may do very well on that corner? A Chipotle. I NEVER see one that's not busy and it's nearly a constant stream.
  21. Yeah, I don't think an art gallery, music lounge, etc. fits the space. Definitely an identifiable chain, but not a 7-Eleven. Granted, the size is small, but a Starbucks, Blue Bird Bake Shop II, Floyd's 99 Barber Shop, ANYTHING... save for a 7-Eleven. But, I digress...
  22. I think a 7-Eleven on the corner of Central and Rosalind is close minded. That corner has potential for something more unique to bring life into the area. From living in 55W, yes, the business may bring traffic to the corner, but not necessarily a good sort of traffic. It seems to attract late night, obnoxious drunk sorts and is a target for panhandlers. The concentration of 7-Elevens within the downtown area is laughable. It's almost as bad as having Gino's #4, #7, #87, all within a block of each other.
  23. LOL. We're those photos taken on an early Sunday afternoon with no one walking around?
