Just saw a report on Fox Charlotte about a plan that was proposed to the Meck Commission for a Major League ballpark. It was for the Second Ward area and had a plan for a 40K seat park with a retractable roof. Not sure how this will all pan out, but the Marlins will officially be in Charlotte within the next month. Although a huge MLB fan, I still think we are a good 5-8 years away for another major pro sport franchise.

Hey I just heard on WBTV about the Adam's Mark being renovated by the group who bought it out into what is called Blake Hotel. I did find a Blake hotel in Chicago not sure if there is any relation but looks to be a nice hotel. Anybody else heard anything new on the future of Adam's Mark??

Yeah Vegas is too hot, much like the complaints of Miami having baseball because it is just too hot to watch a long baseball game outdoors, and playing baseball in a dome is just ridiculous IMO. Vegas does seem "off" for a sports team, especially baseball, they should just keep going after basketball I mean they are hosting the NBA all-star game next season.

Even though I do not think Charlotte is quite ready yet for another major sports team yet, could we make a move for the team? The Marlins said they could leave as soon as 2008, it would be awesome if we could get them, but thats just me dreaming being a huge MLB fan.
