Ummm... They are going to widen I-4 throughout downtown and further. So why in the hell did they not widen the John Young Pkwy portion? This just doesn't make sense. I guess they plan to come back at a later time and widen it?!! What a waste of money.

Even though I want 55-west built, it is too bad that it will block the stunning view of the front of the plaza from I-4.

What the heck is a Puerto Rican league, and why would a place not in Puerto Rico have a Peurto Rican team. Let's start a Russian Ice Skating League even though America has the NHL. -
For a while I hated the way the sides of the two front buildings looked. They are completely flat and boring. Then I had an enlightenment, they are flat because the architects/developers envisioned that one day the building would be surrounded on both sides by other skyscrapers. Why make something look good when it will be hidden?

I-4 is 100% guaranteed to be widened. It's the ramps themselves that are in question.

No, I'm pretty sure they did go over. I am not sure if they fixed it yet. I have a good enough source.

I heard they did go over the right of way and now have to "shave off" a few inches off the balconies.

They should make the roof section a restaurant so everyone could see the beauty from the top. Make it an expensive restaurant to keep the rif-raf out though. What is the person on the bottom image doing on the balcony with their arms out(towards center of the picture)?

This may be common knowledge, but plans are already in the works for the western beltway to expand from Apopka to north I-4 to complete the northwest section of the circle and complete the loop.

Someone please explain the Christmas tree thing. I noticed that the Tennyson in Tallahassee had an ornament-less Christmas tree on its roof (at the completion of the skeleton of the building) during mid-summer. Since this was 6 months or so from Christmas I figured it wasn't to celebrate Christmas at all. So what's the deal?

Are you kidding? Sun Trust's color scheme is perfect. I couldn't Imagine it with different colors than what is.

If I'm not mistaken, Pleasure Island has been open for years prior to the opening of Downtown Disney. It used to be called Disney Village and Pleasure Island was right next door.

I know it hasn't been that long since a picture update, but i would love to see more construction photos. These buildings rise pretty fast once they are done with the foundations.

I went on a field trip for my Steel Design class. We went to Quincy Joist Company in Quincy, FL (outside of Tallahassee). Apparently they supply all of the trusses to Shingle Creek. They had a big blue print of Shingle Creek on the wall. I just thought that was interesting. Supposedly it will be the biggest hotel in the Southeast!

If you put things in prospective it isn't that narrow. It's side takes up a block and compared to other downtown buildings it is just as wide. Ok, I take that back. I just looked at the rendering and forgot that half the project area is for a separate parking garage. That building is real thin.

What about that Superchannel tower? I was staying at the Ivanhoe Plaza Hotel (the old Radisson next to "The Travelers" Building) and I saw the tower in the distance. It looks like it had a lot done since I was last in Orlando. Any new pics or updates on the progress of that?

What's the deal with the Super Channel 55 building? Last time I was in Orlando, it was an eyesore and unfinished and had been that way for a long time. I heard they ran out of money, but will it ever get finished? It looks like it would add character to the area when completed. Anybody know about this?
