They have just begun working in this section of the Fan, 8-1/2 is right beside the Fan Video on Strawberry Street between Stuart and Park, they are reporting the fire started in the wall behind the kitchen hood/grille.

8-1/2 Restaurant/Takeout on Strawberry Street caught on Fire today around lunchtime, evidently had a grease fire in the back kitchen, not sure of the damage....interesting tidbit, because of the water pipe work in the area, there was not enough pressure at the hydrant for the fire hoses, they had to bring in extra trucks etc (4 total)

Hatcher Flats will be at the parcel where the old Spaghetti Warehouse was located between Commerce and 7th Street in Manchester. The VCU Parking Deck at Belvidere is a design-build contract and has been awarded to Donleys LLC http://www.donleyinc.com/

Couple of local projects coming out for bid this month... 4-6-10: VCU West Grace Street Housing and Parking Deck (to be located at Grace and Laurel St): The project consists of the construction of a new 160,000 SF, 459 bed, 5-story metal stud and plank housing facility and a separate 104,000 SF, 219 space parking deck. 4-21-10: Hatcher Flats-Mixed Use Building (Manchester Area): This project consists of a mixed-use building, one (1) floor of parking at 25,744 SF and four (4) stories of residential units at 102,836SF (147 units).
