  1. That location is bigger. The recession is not affecting SouthPark much. However, it has in the Macy's wing. There are two stores empty. If Steve Madden, Illuminations, The Children's Place close, the Macy's wing will be almost half empty. I wish upscale stores would go there, but I doubt that. Aeropostale, Hallmark, Lids, Stride Rite, SouthPark optical, & Mansion do not belong in the mall.

  2. I wonder what they will get rid of for Barneys NY Co-Op. If it is two levels, then why does it have to be BNY Co-Op, not BNY? I wish it was a BNY. However, it is so awesome Phipps is getting a new Barney's New York Co-op.

  3. Went to Haywood Mall earlier today to see how the mall was doing during this economic downturn. Absolutely jam packed is the only way to describe it. Sbarro and Chick-Fil-A had lines of at least 20 people deep. Stores seemed to be doing very good business. Several of the empty retail spaces especially on the lower level next to Sears have been filled mostly with local stores. Without including the food court, I only saw three empty retail spaces. Very good news. :)

I went on Saturday also. It was very full. Where are the empty stores on the lower level? I hope they are not empty because that is the high end wing for Haywood (Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor, Pottery Barn, Coach, J.Crew, etc.). The mall seems to be doing well.
