  1. Reading between the lines (Pastides's quote) in today's paper, it's got to be Holder. He's "closer to the University" family, what with Adesso and Aspyre. He's waiting in the wings. Pastides says we'll know something in weeks, not months.

On the other hand the paper says Roscoe has a history of bringing law suits, so he could bring one and tie it up for years.

Exactly what I was thinking when I read the article this morning.

  2. There has been talk of this happening for quite some time. I can not wait to see the renderings of the new school. I hope the two buildings (graduate and undergrad) are not too modern and incorporate elements of the Horseshoe in their design, much like the National Advocacy Center across campus.

  3. Good to hear. Any idea if there are plans to bury the power lines along the Horizon block?

That area (Horizon, Addesso, Honors Dorm) has gone through a major transformation and would really look quite stunning if not for the mess of tangled lines that front the various buildings (especially Horizon I and Horizon II).

  4. Wow, quite a bit of good news for Main Street. I love the addition of the Church and landing a Mast store appears to be a major coup.

Interesting, because I visited the Mast store in Greenville just last weekend. There were a ton of people shopping there.

Fingers crossed that both projects come to fruition.

  5. I hate the vinyl too, but I see those shots are from the inner courtyard. I know there's supposed to be at least a partial brick facade on the side facing Assembly.

Not much of one. Overall, I am fairly disappointed with the look of Aspyre.

  6. I was at the Rooftop Bar tonight at the Sheraton. It was packed. All the good seats were taken. They have these things that double as high-back seats and lookout platforms, though, and we looked out in all directions from them. It's sweet up there. To look out and see the Vista warehouse district lit up while hanging out at a busy bar in the central business district gives you a feeling of being in a much larger city.

Too funny, I was up there as well and spent most of my time standing on those large chairs looking out over the city. Great views...
