Looks like a lot of land without any foundation. What is the entire back 2/3 of the property going to be used for?

Any update on this development? How far back will it go? will it take over where Metro Graphics is located? what about the shops where the upholstey business and croas fit are located? Also any official name for the apartments going where Cast was?

New signs up at Harkey tile/Ford tire building. Pint central and Salon Twelve 26.

Signage is up for Joe Hooper's Beverage and Sandwich Exchange. Anyone know when this will open up? Looks like it could be a good spot.

Midwood Smokehouse is opening to the public on Saturday. They have been working hard for the past month to get this place ready. They have installed an open air smoker. Definitely seems like this place will have better luck than Cafe Central/Central Bar and Restaurant.

I noticed the name was scraped off the door and the glowing sign is no longer shining. Any update on what is going in this space?

I drive past Central Bar and Restaurant everyday and it has not been open in over a week. Their website does not say anything though. Hopefully something will go in there and do well. Definitely a great rooftop view.

Anyone notice that Common House closed? The sign indicated that a different restaurant will be opening up in the space. Anyone have any additional information about this? I was surprised to see that this restaurant closed.

I noticed there is a new sign atop the former Luxe building that says "Bistro Le Bon". I haven't found anything online about it, but there is definite work going on there.

I drove by today and noticed the Luxe sign was down and a "For Lease" sign was up. Checked their website and it appears they have moved to NoDa. Seems like they spent a good amount of money and bailed.

New sign up at the 1401 complex on central. Central Cafe and Bar appears to be going in on the bottom floor. The upstairs is still just a wide open space with carpet. Does anyone know anything about this? Also noticed the street sign went up for Twenty-two.

I noticed a new sign on the bottom floor of soul. It said: Twenty Two Art, booze, eat, schmooze. Any one know anything more about this place?

I noticed the Soul sign went on the outside of the building on the corner of Central and Pecan. I drove past last night and you could see that they were doing quite a bit of work on the inside. I am not sure how much work is being performed on the bottom part, which i believe is a wine bar, but the upstairs seems to be progressing nicely.

Does anyone know about the restaurant going in at 1101 central ave. I noticed they just put a sign out front indicating the name (which i cant recall of the top of my head), but when you go to the website, it mentions opening in spring 2008. I was curious if this was still going to happen considering the building was for lease until recently.

I know I asked this question a few months ago, but I have noticed that someone bought the property the Charlotte Auto Spa on Central Ave is on in August. Does anyone know if there are any intentions with actually doing something with this or are they just going to leave it as is for the time being. Also does anyone know what they are doing with the building at 5 points between Intermezzo and the White Rabbit.? I see they built a cinder block retaining wall and i saw people working on the roof a few weeks ago.

You are probably correct, I just saw on Wikipedia that it was the first store and that it was still in operation today. It seems a bit more modern than what would have been built in 1932. Was it originally built where the family dollar is today?

The only reason I could think it would be considered a landmark is because it was the first ever H-T store. I have no idea if it is actually a designated landmark, but I do know it was the first HT store.

If I am thinking of the lot you are talking about, that was the Antique Kingdom parking lot. There were two different structures to Antique Kingdom, which were both taken down and there was a parking lot in between them.

I noticed that they put straw down which gives me the indication they do not plan to do anything with it in the near future. I hope they do not rip down that house to have a grass lot. I looked on polaris and saw that the credit union bought them, but they did not list a price. I wonder what they paid for it.

I had talked to the owner before they sold and he had mentioned that someone came to his building and offered him a deal he could not refuse. He had mentioned that they might tear it down, which he was sad to hear, but he said the price was too good to turn down. He was not sure what they were going to put there. Very sad to see that house go down, it was built in 1903.

That is a shame. I thought those were at a decent enough price point to withstand the souring economy. I definitely thought it was going to help Plaza Midwood.

Does anyone know if they still planning on doing the condo complex on Hamorton Pl? I remember hearing them talk about tearing down the existing apartments and putting in a new condo building. That was a while ago and I have not seen anything happening at the site. I was curious if this project was postponed or cancelled.

Now that the 1401 central ave building is nearing exterior completion and work is beginning on the inside, does anyone have the names of any tenants moving in? I heard that a coffee shop was moving in on the top floor, but I have not heard anything in a while. I was curious if anyone knew of actual tenants that are going to move in.
