they have a picture of this first floor being started on emporis under Orlando construction projects page, they also have a picture of Plaza Orlando.

Actually, I had a bad experience at that Giordano's as well. I was just acknowledging the presence of another Chicago area restaurant in the metro Orlando area. I think there is another Giordano's somewhere on US192, not sure where. They might be better or more of the same.

I think the tendency is to get impatient, especially when there are so many proposals on the table right now. bic has done a masterful job of showing us what our future skyline will look like, so when we drive through downtown now and do not see that skyline yet, we tend to get impatient. Projects like 55W add to our disdain. In reality, it takes time for work to progress on any project even after construction begins. The VUE has always been one of my favorite projects. I am glad that is it moving along and will soon go vertical.

I saw a recap of the story on WESH at around 1230pm today and they said that the commuter rail plan was passed 5 votes to 1 and would now go in front of the state government to secure some federal funding for the project. I think i heard that correctly, does anyone know anything else?

A 10 story waterfall? thats sounds pretty cool, reminds me of the waterwall at the medical center and transco tower in Houston.

friends, i have officially joined the ranks of those who believe that this project may not actually materialize they should propose a new project there, how about a 60 story building?

That seems very odd that Sunbank would make that kind of demand. Or that the city would agree to something like that. There has to be more to this story.

i see Sand Lake Rd and Della Drive, but that location is about a mile or so to the West of Turkey Lake Rd (which runs roughly parallel to I-4 through the Dr Phillips area)

When should be expect to see a large construction crane for this project?

that stinks! everytime that i drive anywhere near where i can see the existing Peabody Hotel, I imagine the new tower sitting next to it and it looks amazing. i wish this were not true.

Minneapolis is great! I would consider moving there, if it was not so darn cold for so many months. I like my warm and sunny Florida!
