^Reliable source says the gas station was Wilhelm's Esso/Exxon. ..and the reliable source also highly recommends a visit to the Albemarle Sweet Shop located just behind the Starns Jewelry store. Get several of the " fruit " bars. "Fruit in name only as they will send blood sugars through the roof. But worth it.

Had the town Fathers shown a little foresight and agreed to an extension of the Blue Line into Pineville when they had the chance, the Cone Mill complex would be a thriving landmark today.

^ Neighboring Oberbeck Farms has two ped/bike access points to the LSC Greenway and I have never seen the vehicle traffic/crowding as these folks fear.
