Yeah, browsing through this series it really comes across that Charlotte parks have consistent signage and are very clean. I need to get me a bike.
try the Recyclery first. Best low-cost selection of used ( very nice ) bikes of all types and sizes.

False spring day equals greenway walking. Like Forrest Gump (one of my all time favorite movies) Walk KJ Walk! Before an appt and could thing I brought a change of shirts as it was getting warmer out there. Four Mile Greenway which there is a part of in Matthews I have walked extensively. This part is from Rea Rd under Elm Lane W passed the huge wetland areas over to Johnston Rd. I think it was 3 miles round trip. anyway I would HIGHLY recommend this greenway as over half is boardwalk over wetlands. As a beach condo owner I love me some wetlands. This is probably the biggest wetland in Meck County. It would be nice to connect this up to Matthews. Piper Glen is not the problem as the county has land along the creek but it is where it goes through Raintree that could be problematic . Went to the junction of the McAlpine Creek and Four Mile Creek right by Johnston Rd.
This greenway was very busy for a Friday morning and I heard at least 4 languages spoken on this the most international greenway.
the tour of all the greenways continues.
Great pics. Those boardwalks are lovely when dry, but wet them a bit and they're deadly, if on a bike.

Was not aware of "CommonSpark" and the significant amount of money they have raised,...

IMHO, and not to breach any UP page protocols, ... the winning strategy ( Dem or Rep ) in next year's Senatorial race is to convey an intention to prioritize this issue with N/S & CSX, if elected.

^Good point. Subsidizing. august ground retail should be calculated into the office rent. Unfortunately, less likely in a single tenant high rise, like this.

Actually, it is my understanding that the lake is stocked for the sole reason of keeping mosquitoes at bay.

Ok... maybe Irene wasn't the first, but she was pretty damn busy that day. .."Hundreds of people crowded The Open Kitchen because owner Steve Kokenes had promised to sell mixed drinks for 5 cents until his five cases of alcohol were gone."
A well-written, deep-dive article on the politics of how it all came to pass. ..

Irene Whiteside was laid to rest today.. She supported her family ( on her own) as a waitress at The Open Kitchen for 33 years. She served the first mixed drink in Mecklenburg County. It was a BIG DEAL.

I agree about Bessant. Isn't she the last of the core Charlotte people? I wonder where in Europe she's going. London isn't remotely what it used to be.
Paris.

It’s just begging for there to be a Mile High Club on the 30th floor, or 40th or whatever this is supposed to be. If they stay strippin’ at the bottom.
^Gastonia will close up shop.

Silly question... which restaurant had the Coconut creme pie that was to die for... Cupboard or Greystone ? ...and the hot rolls that simply melted in your mouth...
