Actually now that you mention it, I think you're right...but I could've sworn there was some sort of work done to it...I thought it was being reclad, or something? I can't recall...
The gold-ish windows were replaced over a year or so with blue tinted ones.

Seems like my photos only go to "thumbnails". Not sure how to change that.
Anyways, here is another shot. Couldn't get on our top floor for a better angle since people are using that area.
I suspect the crane will get taller at some point.
The crane has added 2 segments to itself today!

I appears to be a view from 4th ave, looking northeast. This is the approximate street view: https://www.google.com/maps/@36.1754978,-86.7866041,3a,75y,27.94h,89.11t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sp5N641Yffyh2PQGhxKzkYg!2e0
The street in the view is 4th ave and Madison is just off to the left of the building.

In terms of Vista, I think that the Madison side is the good side. I really struggle with certain aspects of the Jefferson side. And I have little or no use for the 5th Ave side.
I live on Madison across from Vista and while I initially did not like the building, I have grown to love it. Lets not talk about the almost 2 years of construction, Argh. The intersection at 5th and Madison and Madison St have changed a lot for the good in the 7 years I have lived there. More people are living around me and walking around the neighborhood. Saturday morning is a great time to sit at Red Bicycle and watch people out and about.

It's not apparent from the photograph, but that skybridge appears to be a gym. It's full of exercise equipment.
One level of the skybridge is the apartment gym. The very top level is open outdoor space. Not sure about the 2nd level.

The event is a concert protesting the honkey tonk diner to keep honkey tonks on Broadway.

I work in the AT&T (Batman) building and my office is on the side where I will be able to see this baby slowly rise (no pun intended).
I work across the street from this site and while I am excited about the building, I am not excited about contruction noise.

A 3-story dinner? Plus a rooftop patio?? Also, I forgot this thing was 'wrapping around the planned SoBro...
"The additional stories are to be built atop the existing one-level structure, which will be expanded in the rear to make for a larger footprint, Steve Smith said. The 32-story, 300-unit-plus SoBroapartment tower that developer Tony Giarratana and his partners plan to build will curve around The Diner’s location, he added."
There is a cool rendering but I am receiving an error when I attempt to post the image....
So much for building atop the existing one-level structure. It is currently being demolished.

Are the construction trailers now under the Demonbreun ped walkway on 2nd for this project?

Here is a link to the pdf about the borings: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1356759/Soil%20Borings.pdf

There is a project going on that block. It is an infill project 3 or 4 stories. Not exactly sure what lot it is. I think its the one between the bridge and the apartments.
I believe that is the project going in across from Joes Crab Shack between the Seen nightclub and the boot store.

This is a good question for Ron or WW. If that is the lot across from Asurion, that is the Michael Hayes owned lot, and I have not heard of any immediate plans for it. There has always been speculation for that massive lot.
It is the lot directly north of Asurian.

Does anyone know if there are development plans for the Premier lot on the Demonbreun, 1st, Molloy, 2nd block? I received a notice Friday that soil borings are taking place this week in the lot next to my office.

Couldn't they just use Bicentennial Mall? That park and the Farmer's Market seem to turn into nothing but a huge parking lot for Octoberfest anyway.
Due to the rapid growth in Germantown and lack of empty land, the Germantown Street Festival may need to move further north into Morgan Park. I doubt the church's Oktoberfest will move since the churches are part of the festival.

I found the site plans on Metro's Development Tracker site: http://maps.nashville.gov/MPC/2013/091213/2006SP-022-001_plan.pdf

I believe these are indeed going at the corner of 5th and VB. At some point I saw design plans but cannot remember where.
From the Nashville Business Journal today:
ZM Development Co. hopes to break ground in January on Morgan Park West, a $5 million residential project in Germantown, Nashville Post reports.
The project, part of the broader Morgan Park Place development, will feature residential units in three buildings.
Homes in the project will range from 2,200 square feet to 2,700 square feet, with starting prices in the low $500,000s.

The historic building will be saved. According to the article... "Future plans may include luxury residential development with homes in the $250 to $300 per foot range in addition to the historic building." Also.."As for the existing building, Hammond said it would make a beautiful restaurant."
I live in Germantown and am excited to hear this.
