I've got mixed feelings. If it was a college stadium, then, yeah, you upgrade because of the pressures from your conference (eg. SEC) for set numbers, etc. Here, there's no team other than at least 2-3 bowl games/year and maybe 1-2 regular season or pre-season kickoff games. At max, maybe 5 games/year? It's almost like a home schedule, so maybe it is justifiable. Don't they also host maybe 1 concert /year?
But now, the money shared between conference schools really helps with operating expenses and infrastructure improvements spread out to all members. You don't have that here except with say the tourist tax...
The Jacksonville Jaguars have to vacate their stadium for 2 seasons while their stadium gets renovated. I imagine Orlando could land some of their games.

Largest employer for sure. Yet most Disney jobs do not pay a living wage. Disney has underpaid the vast majority of it employees for decades. As a person born and raised here I resent it. If this governor wants to tangle with Disney a bit. So be it. No person or institution should be given Carte Blanche forever. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Disney needs to be as accountable as any other corporation.

Like every other facet of America life circa 2023 politics is ruining this site. I really hate political discussions on non political sites. Also hate when people label broad swaths of society with corrosive labels. As a person born and raised in Florida, I can tell you that Disney is a complex issue. Views for and against Disney real cross party lines. Let’s be civil and accepting of different view points.

I just came here to see if anyone posted a photo of a Porto potty. Ron Paul is ready for his appearance.

Break out the Ron Paul. I saw one today at the northern most corner of the site! Oh, wait; no photo, though; so...I guess it doesn't exist...
I will hold off for a photo. There is nothing worse than premature Ron Paul….

This is what Downtown Orlando and this board are about these days. People are either mourning the loss of teal paint on a stumpy 440 foot building or arguing about the benefits of a downtown Walgreens. Downtown Orlando is a corpse these days under this administration’s stagflation. No wonder buzzards are circling Orlando…

I'll be interested to see if it gets redesigned yet again before the first piece of heavy equipment ever shows up.
They will cut the height by 8 stories and widen the base and add a visor.

Kind of ties it together as a signature building now. Also pretty cool that they tied into the old church street facade/Cheyenne Saloon and Food hall with an urban courtyard and the station.
Here is a cool brochure of Lincoln for marketing purposes that shows a lot of detail:

I don't think this breaks ground before the Brightline station opens. They still have to do GMPs/bidding, site demo and underground work to get ready for pilings/vertical. Everything I had heard was later this year for vertical. We may see the demo/clearing start well ahead of that though while they are finalizing design and GMP of the tower.
Later this year; I heard that last year.

Are you referring to their downtown? Because I'm sure most people would gladly trade our downtown skyline for the Strip's, even if it is a tourist trap. And don't even get me started on how bad it makes I-Drive look.
Referring to wide tall hotel buildings. Like this. These sort of hotel buildings are boxy

At 37 stories, it would be 395ft. Which currently would make it the fifth tallest.....
Currently being the key word.
Sorry I was going by the 325 on the thread title. I missed the 395 news. I hope this comes to pass.

Thx. I was at Amway at that confounded Michael Buble concert...don't ask...
I love this shot...it reminds me of a throw back shot from the 1940's of the Chicago lakefront near the old railyards because of the orientation of some of the buildings... I'll post it when I find the image to illustrate.
I was wondering about the location where the photo was taken. You don’t often see this view downtown. Nice work.

This detail is rich:
The 1.4-acre site currently is a parking lot owned by Florida businessman Harry Hahamovitch's related Delray Beach-based HHH Reilly Fund. Kuhn has been managing the parking operation there on behalf of Hahamovitch, he said.
Kuhn has an option to buy the property before February 2023 for about $15 million, he told OBJ.

391 (if true) would make it one of the tallest buildings in downtown. Top 5.
So Emporis says 350.
https://www.emporis.com/buildings/1591628/society-orlando-i-orlando-fl-usa
this site says 330
I have seen 391 mentioned in this thread
I am not since the number of floors has varied between 26 and 28. I think it is over 380 but I am not positive. I would love a definitive answer.
