Urban planning is new to me. After getting an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Montana I joined the Peace Corps and served in Bulgaria. While in Bulgaria I met an interesting English gentleman who had worked as an urban planner in London for 15 years. That, coupled with living in a Europeanized Bulgarian city, Rousse, somewhere that was not a suburban American area made me realize just how bad places in the US were. <br /><br />Prior to living in Rousse I had never given any thought to where I lived. Being there was such an eye opening experience for me that once I made it back to the US I found the nearest accredited Urban Planning program. So far what I've learned is really exciting and eye opening, every day I feel like I learn a little more and I'm glad I've found this great planning forum.
