  1. I am photo starved...can someone snap some pics of the street level for me?

Here you go CLTHeel... hope you enjoy.

    1. Night shot this past weekend (another queen city crown)

    photo-3.jpg

    2. Day shot a few minutes ago

    3. Zoom on the Pool Deck & recently placed furniture... wow luxury indeed. Almost enough to have a pool balcony restaurant grilled?!

  2. Im watching the crane come down right now...

Its pretty neat to watch the sequence of events for a crane to dismantle ITSELF (perhaps worth of Discovery Channel or something)

    photo-1.jpg

  3. I'll have to visit the hotel sometime and "probe their defenses"

Haha, that sounds good. We'll all look forward to it!

Amazing shots Jersey Boy! So what is the reoccuring pattern for lighting up the Carrilon building pink? Wasnt lit all summer but this fall and last fall it is / has been lit. I like it and I think they should keep it. Think its breast cancer awareness related?

  4. I think one of the other posters pointed out that this was previously planned (prior to the stoppage)... I believe that crane was lower than the other and wasn't needed.

    Thanks for that clairifier dbull75.

I swear all this drama uptown is going to drive us crazy! Guilty myself, this stuff is all getting in our heads and messing with our confidence...quite the mood change from our previous swagger of "the Dubai of the South" - where any and everything can and will be built... <_<

So any VUE contracted buyers hear any news yet?

  5. Shouldn't there be a tag on UP for SPECULATION posts?

Some of these ideas are ridiculous; condos -> office space... come on.

    Thank you... I completely agree.

I mean can some one be play (realisitic) devil's advocate here and just give me the worst prognosis? I dont know, maybe Vue stalls for a yr or 2 in its current condition (or at least enclosed) and is re-sold - similar to the Park - for a huge lost to developers and some investors, but re-opens at a much more attractive pricepoint with "similar" but more realistic (key word in this post) designs?

    ?

  6. I can now confirm that I in fact have double paned windows. You would think I would have noticed that having lived here a year.

haha not to get off topic (with trademark) but speaking of double panes and tinting... my tint has actually been scratched off (from the outside?!) at some locations...and im noticing it on the elevator side in the hall as well.. jeez value engineering

  7. Mine's double paned (Trademark).

I can confirm as well that Trademark is double paned .... sooo?

All of the glass will be the same color.

And yes, my comment before was noting that the blue in the marketing illustration IS indicating that all the windows will be (equally) tinted a blue color. Not a scattered random pattern.

But also consider that Trademark itself is a perfect example of a building having some windows being tinted a different color than others... granted Tradmark has a pattern (every 5th floor on the corner units maybe?) to its gray/blue corner unit tinting but its still a plausible idea.

(It would seem a bit weird to have blue windows scattered throughout haha ^_^ )

  8. Is it possible that the film has since been removed from what you saw QC-NC

Yea it does appear to be clear with no film. So I stand corrected: im not certain that the film is not a permanent appearance but I know that I definitely saw a corner peeling off in a FEW of the windows (3 or 4).

But as one person noted, a few renderings of the vue do show what appears to be blue tinted glass scattared throughout the facade...

    Night2.jpg

BTW...The windows I saw "peeling" were on the 2nd floor of the Vue (side closest to HT main entrance).....Seen @ the bottom right of Initial D's 1st picture:

  9. There's definitely a blue tint to the glass but I'm not sure it matches the renderings. It seems to be a darker blue than that of the Avenue but it could have a protective film on the glass keeping us from seeing it's true color.

Leaving the HT earlier this week, I stopped and can actually confirm the blue tint as being a protective coating on the glass. I could verify some of the coating peeling off so I do not believe it is permanent by any means. :)

  10. Wow, this shot is AMAZING.. so vibrant and detailed all while capturing Charlottes essence: skyscrapers and trees

Here's another photo my brother took. It's view from the Avenue. Unfortunately my camera has to be sent in (brand new camera too, stupid Canon), so it will be a little while before I get any shots. Enjoy this one I guess for now:

    sig.jpg

    BTW: Great shots, others!

  11. ...window level with some of the Cityview units...

Along that same topic, I dont thing anyone has mentioned but the city view towers (and camden behind looking east) top floor residents', and obviously everyone below, will have a drastic change in "city view" or city "vue" and I havent heard anyone complain/moan about this eminent destruction of their view.

(comparable to the article in the observer about the folks at Arlington perhaps? Although one major difference is Cityview and Camden are aparments not condos... correct?)

  12. Even though this isn't true

Can you reference a credible soure? or please give some basis for your denouncing of this sales manager delivered information? :dontknow:

Having a building this tall that isn't mixed use (namely streetfront retail) would be a horrible tragedy.

Not entirely true, I wouldnt call Westin, BOA HQ or any aformentioned bldgs "tragedies." I will agree to some extent and support the idea that mixed use design allows for a dynamic environment in many situations, yet still some bldgs probably serve better / operate more efficiently as a single use structure.

  13. So one interesting note to make about the previously stated FACT, is that the Vue sales person noted it was the tallest ALL residential bldg...implying there is no office, major retail combo (like Trademark, or plenty of other mixed use tall bldgs in ATL, Orlando, Jacksonville)

Funny how we are going for such a vertical push when we realistically dont need to at all! (like it tho :shades: )

  14. such as five story bongs down to the pool deck.

    well done Tmark ..... :dontknow:

    (Dwight Shrute)

 Fact: The Vue is the 2nd largest all residential tower in the South East. The tallest being in Miami.

  15. I think the price per square foot is about $500 not $700. Still expensive.

I stand corrected... bottom floor looking away from city with no "vue" of skyline <_<

    ~$320k / ~571 sqft. =~ $560 / sqft

But yes, still very (comparatively) expensive... not to mention the # of units they have to sell!

Im not looking for a sarcastic lecture, but rather a discussion on the drastic difference in $/sqft the Vue demands. That includes talking about the "price worthy" amentities that I, myself am not recognizing to be that much differnt than the ones at Ave, Trademark, Catalyst. :scared:

Id like to hear what I am obviously (with the 60% sales mark already met) misunderstanding about the value for buying here. No knock on anyone, just good discussion :whistling:

  16. Riverwood, Great pictures! I had no idea that the basement floors had already begun to rise! I am always viewing from trademark a "someday ill eventually see more than just a flat concrete jungle"

very nice... so everyone still think 2010? no delays in forecast?

(I know its been discussed before, but WHO IS BUYING @ >$700/sqft?!?!)
