What is going Into the old Hello Ninja building?
Start up restaurant concept called Sharkys is the buzz, but not certain

Very cool...I checked out their site. It looks very slick and promising, and would appear to be a fairly exclusive (upper market) "flag" from Marriott. The closest or most similar markets at a quick glance are OKC and Des Moines. It looks like the brand is international as well.
Much better than Aloft...

Dillard’s would never allow that

Sears has a large footprint within the mall. Curious as to who can fill that space. Does the store own or lease it?
They lease it

Watching the idiots turn into the new Sam's off of 412 where it was not designed for that and then watching the idiots turn left on to 412 there as well seems to call for removing the center turn lane on 412 there.
Agreed. Nightmare

Slim Chickens is going in the old José's
Yes, tearing it down and building new structure. Seems like traffic in and out will be tough...

It is the food court building at the promenade. Repurposing it as D and B

Freddy's might be going into the closed Dunkin' Donuts location. It has been totally repainted and work is going on with the interior.
Burge's Deli is under the same ownership as the LR one.
Ceci's Chicken and Waffles is closing down in North Little Rock and relocating to Conway on Dave Ward.
Also, they have finished hanging the steel for the overpass between Conway Commons and Central Landing. Although, I am not sure if Central Landing as purposed will ever be developed.
Freddy's is going where the motel currently sits.

There is talk of up to 2500 (MORE) layoffs across the Bentonville walmart home office campus in the next 90 days.. I see 2008 coming soon all over again in this region.
Walmart layoffs happen. We've been told for the last few years by the current regime that they want to get rid of redundancies and cut several jobs. Banks and developers have been aware of this. That being said, even with those jobs eliminated we don't have the bloated market and glut of residential lots and unnecessary and out of place speculative developments of the mid 2000s. There will not be a bloodletting like we saw in 2008. A correction certainly but not an all out disaster.

I wonder what potential development(s) this could bring?

Would hope for Top Golf and retail/restaurants around it. Also Whole Foods or Sprouts.

There are about half dozen city rezoning signs along N. College from Maple to North St- both sides of the street. Some are on developed lots and even one on the parking lot at the SE corner of College and North. Can't imagine them all being owned by the same person. Wonder what is going on?
Probably this:

There was an article in the DemGaz today that said Willow Heights residents would be moving to another complex on the south side of the city and that the land currently occupied by the aging housing project will be sold.
Does anybody know anything about this? The views from that land are some of the best in the city. I could see it being a really great downtown park.
Long article, basically will be privately developed but not until 2022 and will be single family and cluster homes with a mix of income levels

I was looking at the Lowell Master Street Plan last night and I saw they had a marker for a future school along Garrett Rd just east of Bellview in Rogers. Anybody know anything about this?
School district has owned this property for a while and plans two schools. First will be elementary scheduled for 2018 school year I'm told.

There's a lot less market for 20k SF tenants, so chances are these are multi-tenant floors in most cases.
I hear you, but they aren't going to spec build the tower on a few smaller leases

Nice renderings, BUT this is a mid-rise (10-11 stories). Why create such an unusually large floor plate resulting in a middling height building, instead of a typical office floor plate that might result in a 15-20 story tower?
Tenants seem to prefer the 20-25k sf floor plates these days so they can get everything on one floor and work the Open Office concepts. 15k sf floor plates are obsolete

Lake Atalanta is having a grand opening end of this month before the big Mountain Biking event.
On another note, there is a lot of dirt work going on next to Taco Bell by the promenade. Any information?
Also next to Mercy, right next to the New Hope off ramp, there is something going in as well. Any information on that?
On promenade, mercy is building medical offices, the Dirt work on new hope is preparation for the new 7 story tower, added parking

From what I've read, will be a hotel with shops & restaurants on the bottom floor. Jimmy Johns for sure going in there since their building was torn down to accommodate the 8W Center.

Comreguy,
Months ago we'd speculated on the possibility of Menard's coming some day to NWA. They're about to open a Menard's east of U.S. 65 in southern Hollister, MO, barely 10 miles above the Arkansas line. They may never go any farther in this direction, but this will be their farthest south location yet (surpassing the Poplar Bluff, MO store which previously held that honor). Jane, MO might have been a good location for them once right above BV; we'll see...

I haven't heard anything to indicate they are coming here, but don't see any reason why we wouldn't be on the radar given their proximity. If I hear anything, I'll post here
