actually, I figured that 1 acre is almost 1 football field. I think Ski Dubai is several football fields in size... i.e., 10 acres could probably handle the project. Not to mention the 3rd tower being erased.

I would assume even if they have 13 acres for this, for planning purposes you need some extra space around!

BTW, have you actually been in Ski Dubai? do you think that a smaller scale would be apropriate, or would it be too small?

that being said, you've got to be crapting me. Ski Dubai? for real? same size as the one in Dubai? That'll be taller than the Blue Rose, won't it?

If you think about it, they are taking additional 10 acres for that, plus they are using the left building site, you figure it out!, maybe they'll make something on a smaller scale, but the idea is there!

Yes permitting is going on, but it does not look like there has been any work done on the main permit (Master Number: MPL2006-00020

Case Description: Request for Master Plan amendment approval to add additional land, reconfigure parking, reduce to two towers.) in several months. They have several simple comments outstanding and one or 2 big ones, they must reduce room #'s or it becomes a DRI, and the city wants road improvements done nearby.

In all it looks like nothing has been done on the project for the past 4 or 5 months.

I spoke to somebody in the sales team 2 weeks ago, he verified that they have secured a contract with Ski Dubai to erect an Indoor Ski Resort, in order to bring this in they acquired an additional 10 acres as well as reducing the plan to 2 towers (the small tower on the left is being removed).

They claim that they will still have 1,300 condos and they will be split up between those 2 big buildings, however they will not offer any 3-2 (3 bedroom 2 bathroom), instead they will offer more studios!
