haven't skimmed this thread thoroughly, but does anyone know what's up with "shops on park" on park ave? i actually was able to walk thru it today since it was opened(by accident?). looks VERY nice with koi ponds(with koi in them already) and a faux banyan tree. . .i'm hoping they get some nice restaurants and retail in there to bring some life to the rest of park ave. hopefully it doesn't bomb, though it seems like they finished up gutting the whole place and renovating it quickly for new tenants. i got some phone pics

big +1 on that. . .thats exactly what i said last saturday just looking around in general.

it's not always necessarily about purchasing an "asset," some people genuinely like the places, and would like to call them home at the right price. if you can get in there sub/lower 200's. . .i think you've done halfway decent. as far as the "asset" side of things, if you can carry the place for 4-5 years, i doubt it'll be worth LESS than what you paid for it.

try shin, a lot of my "sushi head" friends not it's quite a bit more authentic than your run of the mill sushi bar

just walk right in between the 2 towers fronting orange avenue. . .before you hit the thru-street under the building, you'll see bento on your left side

went there saturday night/sunday morning at 3am when they were running a trial of a 4am closing time. . .and you literally couldn't move inside, that's how packed it was on a daily basis i'd say lunch is a hit there, and the 630-9pm dinner crowd, with things tapering off outside those hours. i have no doubt with those prices that that place isn't gonna be much of a sleeper for long if it still is one.

not at the MW location. . .but i ate there YEARS ago when it was at pointe orlando i really can't tell you if i liked it or not, though that probably means it was a less than memorable experience. i do remember it wasn't particularly cheap though.

yea, the spot where brick&fire is should be like a Morton's or similar. . . high end steak house, something like that would be suited nicely for that location i think gino's is right up the street and a hundred times better, faster and cheaper.

dessert lady downtown is also VERY good. . .the place looks incredible inside, and boy was it PACKED on friday night looks like ceviche is next on the list to try downtown

are you talking about cars for the cure in lake mary, more specifically Colonial TownPark? the M5 and M3 were both entered in the show, and my M3 won the "award of disctinction" in the german class what car did you enter?

any car guys here? myself(2004 BMW M3), girlfriend, and 2 buddies(Porsche 996 X50 turbo, 2006 BMW M5) hit up the east pine garage downtown for a few shots yesterday with some nice vistas of downtown. . .here's some of em a couple more to follow soon, enjoy!

so what exactly happens to the tenants and things that are in buildout in the plaza? i think urban's doing pretty well. . .

not many people shop at downtown mini? it's funny, cuz that's actually the opposite of the truth. . .not to mention downtown mini is one of the most highly regarded dealerships ANYWHERE in the mini community in terms of overall experience. now if ferrari's listening to me. . .they should put like Cafe Ferrari somewhere on or near the premises. . .like an italian market of sorts(see antonio's la fiamma). pipe dreams. . .

maybe they can get some of their race cars and old classics in there, to have some sort of motorsport museum for the public to look at. the guys in the dealer have ALWAYS been nice to me when i've wanted to simply go in and look around. . .they have absolutely no problem with it, and have been chatty with me about the cars to boot. im personally happy they're finally moving out of that other horrendous location, and choosing to do business downtown. hey. . .maybe someone will want to buy a ferrari, then eat dinner downtown or catch a movie afterwards

very nice restaurant/retail lineup there, should bring some people to the complex with no problem at all

sunshine: i'm really not wanting to start a who's city/skyline is bigger. . .but you gotta compare apples with apples when comparing them like you did in those 2 pictures. the orlando skyline is taken from 6-7 miles away from relatively low altitude, so you pretty much only see what's peeking up above the treeline. . . while the cleveland skyline's taken from an angle looking down, making it look a lot denser in my opinion. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1028/134774...dd56163.jpg?v=0 courtesy of the Gent Family Photos on flickr it's still not 100% what im looking for, angle wise, but i think you get my point there.

http://australfusion.com/ i beleive it's a prix fixe menu kind of deal; think along the lines(very loosely) of a texas de brazil, a little more upscale feel though. i've been once a while ago, and it really didnt do much for me to be honest, and when i saw the cheesy "lunch special from $8.99" sign hanging out front, i figured they were hurting for business. HOWEVER, i'm going to have to go back some time, i can't deny i've been hearing good things about this place everywhere recently, hopefully they got themselves in order. . .though i DO admit i miss blackfin occupying that space; it's a shame bad management got both blackfins out of business. anyone been to spice downtown yet? i'd like to try that location, esp the outdoor portion.

uh why is il gelatone closing? i hope they relocate somewhere where rent isn't astronomical maybe. . . any word on that?

just chiming in here to say that shin sushi and cityfish are both AWESOME places! been to both of them once, and really enjoyed my meal
