  1. I'll be glad when the day comes that someone buys that hideous rodeway inn or whatever it's called building that has the Chick-fi-la streetside. That is the worse looking building on Main st. to me......but i still love the picture above!!!!!
  2. Originally, but it quickly became known differently! You get a shot and a half with a minibottle drink so you are getting more bang for your buck. I had family memebers that loved to go bar hopping in SC because they knew their drinks weren't getting watered down. In many ways....i do miss the mini bottle because you didn't have to rely on lucking up on getting a good bartender in hopes of getting a good drink. I use to tip just for the sake of tipping, but now.... i actually tip based on batending skills...lol... Exactly....supposely...because this was only true when it came to making specialty drinks like long island iced teas and other drinks with multiple liquors needed. For the most part the prices stayed the same some actually went up. I now get into the habit of drinking liquor prior to going out and then drink on beer while i'm in the bar or club. And i don't care for beer that much....lol...
  3. True Krazee! I feel like it would be totally subjective to each person you asked. I personally would love to upgrade the look of 5points...i mean it's the people and shops that make the area funky....not the facade of the buildings...When i'm in that area...the buildings aren't what i get ecstatic about...the people, fountain and businesses are.
  4. That's wonderful to know! I've been to the one in Savannah and Charleston and i think the Charleston location was better because they played a better variety of music. The Savannah location only plays pop 80's music which leads to a weak crowd many times! I think that Vista location is a perfect place for a Wet Willies...as the area grows the crowd in that spot will also!!! Agreed....and i think it's going up for vote for Sunday sales of beverages...but i would like for them to add to the ballot a later closing time. It really hinders most people....i honestly believe that's why people go to the bars so early in Columbia....i mean i've been ticked off plenty of times getting off at 5:30pm....leave the workplace grounds at 5:45 and then get stuck in traffic only to get to the beverage store with only 5 to 15min to spare and having to rush. I remember it being a long line once and they weren't getting people out fast enough....it was 3 people in front of me and the clock it 7p and they said they couldn't sale anymore because it was 7p....people were crushed...and i would have been too if my cousin wasn't stationed at Ft. Jackson at the time. I don't get how NC and GA has way later times than SC.....my brother has driven from Columbia to Augusta before just to get some liquor because he got off at 6:45 and knew he wasn't gonna make it in time. I would be content with a 8pm Monday thru Thursday and a 10p on Friday and Saturday. Sunday could be a 2p to 6p thing. I said i'd be content with those times...not elated...lol Exactly....because i remember going to a certain bar and getting 3 drinks and feeling a little tipsy....now at the same place i get the same 3 drinks and don't feel anything. I know it's the law change because i still buy minibottles here and there and i get more bang for my buck!
  5. I definately did enjoy that thread....thanks for the link krazeeeboi....It's just amazing how being in Savannah right now i notice the amount of trees here, but it wasn't until looking at the pic's on here that i realized that Columbia has just as many trees as anywhere else. Thx again
  6. Lol....that's funny...I looked at those pictures in the link the other day and was thinking the same thing. Each shot had trees in it....Who says Columbia isn't a green city.......just imagine how it's gonna be when the revitalize that garden district.
  7. The next time i'm in Columbia, i'm going to try and take pictures....unfortunately i don't have a good camera like it seems everyone else has. I'm regreting not getting a better digital camera now....I ended up going compact and purchased a Sony Cybershot DSC-W80....not a bad camera at the least when taking personal pictures...
