Some very cool shots on here lately!
I stopped at the Kilgore-Lewis House and Gardens today at lunch to snap a few pics. Here is a shot from the "back yard" looking over Springwood Cemetery:
***Edited because the coffee obviously hadn't kicked in yet...

Excellent afternoon lighting, Skyliner!
Here's one for Sunday Morning...
RT, what a fantastic capture! THIS is what Greenville is all about!

Skyliner,
I like that Port City Java shot! I really like the lighting!
I can see myself sitting there (on a laptop, of course) having a morning Primo Almond Joy and Blueberry White Chocolate scone....

C'mon, somebody else add a pic-o-the-day! It looks like I'm hogging the space!

You guys know how I love bright colors in my shots! Well, the most colorful place in downtown would have to be the corner (is it McBee?) where the Christian Academy's art is displayed all along the wall. Here's one example of this beautiful art display:

I've got to try this place out!

Here's one that I snapped of my daughter's glove and hat during Friday's G-Drive win over the Columbus Catfish.
Now you've hit a soft spot of mine... vintage (and vintage-looking) sports shots. Excellent shot. Our playroom is done in antique golf and other sport implements and vintage baseball posters (Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, Roger Maris). Well done you!

This isn't urbany or anything, but as I was going through some of my shots, this one caught my eye. It's one of my favorites and I can't really put a finger on why...
I hope the weekend will be blue skies like shown here!

RT, your latest pics are really fabulous! I haven't anything new... I'll have to go back into my archives to dig some shots up.

RT, these are fabulous! And my stockings hath fleeted! Approximately what time were these shots taken?

Very cool shot! Man, now I'm gonna have to go get some of that Strawberry Spread!

...ingenious shot that makes your photo resemble a Monet painting! The "blurry, almost bleeding" red effect of the plant in the backrop & hints of "sky" blue and green are superb...Good work!
Thanks! I'm particularly pleased with this one myself.

I have nothing "urbany" to share today as I've been concentrating my shots in Anderson lately. But, the pic is from Falls Park on the Reedy the other morning:

I know this is off topic, but the last few weeks I have been trying to restore and archive some of my Dads old photos, some of witch were in very bad shape. I just thought I would share one with
you guys.
This is a photo of C.R. Laughter [My Dad on the right ] doing maintenance on one of the [68] 40 mm AA guns aboard the U.S.S. Randolph [C.V.15 Ticonderoga class] aircraft carrier.
This was 1946 and my dad was 18 years old
How cool is that to have a pic of your dad working on the aircraft carrier! I've got pics of my dad when he served in Japan but they all seem to be during furlough... beer in hand... etc.
I thought about you this a.m. while I was wandering around Falls Park (about 7:45 a.m.) - wondering where you'd been!

I was downtown this a.m. around 8:00 to get my cup-o-joe (actually primo Almond Joy from Port City Java) and I thoroughly enjoyed downtown at that hour. Great shot!

It's on the corner of Richardson and Washington...you were obviously on the Washington side when you took this. Beautiful photo! I love the architecture on this church and the St. Mary's Catholic Church on down the way. Both would make excellent nighttime subjects, too.
And on that note, Friday evening edition:

It's First Presbyterian. I think it's at Buncombe and W. Washington, but don't hold me to that! There are a number of spires on the church.

I'm just beginning to get off Main Street onto the side and parallel streets of downtown Greenville. So much cool architecture in this town!!

There is a giant canopy over the entire outdoor seating section now. I kept thinking how terrible it was that a tree was cut down just to increase the seating capacity, but with the permanent canopy it looks much better now.
I'll have to check that out. I'm wanting to get up to the Jazz Caverns for lunch one day next week to try the Southern Fusion Egg Rolls. I'll check it out then.

Wednesday morning edition:
This was taken on the day of the National Day of Prayer gathering at Piazza Bergamo. I really goofed before the event and accidentally set my camera's speed to 1600 when I was trying to set it to AUTO. Did you know that if you accidently go past AUTO it jumps to the top of the speed list? Grrr.... this is one of the only salvagable pics from that day.
