People living in this time and place don't really understand the idea of waiting for something. Most have this "I want it, and I want it NOW!" mentality which is why you see high credit card debts, and people being overextended. It's kind of sad to watch...

Yeah, i've driven through the hood recently and noticed that there have been several "larger" houses built, and currently under construction. Wonder how long it will take before more people start taking notice of this community...

Did he even try to rezone? my (limited) understanding of this is that the land is currently zone for single family/smaller sized dwellings. That sucks! I had high hopes for the neighborhood... i've seen some redevelopment of some houses, but nothing on a large scale...

Heh, i didn't realize this was going on and i drove past the site today to see a bunch of rubble. I quickly got online to urban planet to see what was going on with this parcel!

I like the 30D.. i actually don't have an SLR yet. I'm saving up for a Canon Digital Rebel XT or possibly XTi. The photo i posted was taken with my Pentax Optio S4 point-n-shoot camera. It has some manual features, but i'm quickly outgrowing the automatic functions! For example, there is a manual focus, but you can't control the shutter speed or aperture. I've learned to trick it into a longer shutter speed (covering over the light sensor!) but the maximum exposure is 4 seconds... I've found another great spot that I'm going to take pictures from at dusk tonight (hopefully)

So the developer is purchasing 63 homes at an estimated $3 million. Thats less then $50k per house including the land. Not a bad deal considering how close it is to Uptown/Elizabeth/Dilworth/Myers Park
