needs some kind of sport courts, I would like a couple basketball courts, it would give me a reason to go up there and maybe a few tennis courts. I also agree about the water feature

dub i just want to throw out there that we are at really no risk of running out of oil, and that because demand will most likely have shifted because of how global warming is being portrayed right now in the media, (which the shift is not a bad thing at all just the way the media has done it is well disapointing) but overall, just know that we will have oil for a long time... it just may be more expensive then we like. The US itself has tons of oil in its shale form which for a price can be converted into crude oil

hmm the rendering i hope isnt real, because if it is, it doesnt exactly look like a strolling area, but then again its just a rendering so i could be totally wrong

I love driving through providence and seeing all the old brick warehouses that are outside the downtown, thats a beautiful city... I was wondering what happened to charlottes warehouses. right a landbanker who is greedy took care of it
-
hmmm I thought this was going to try to be more of a classy kind of developement then avenue was as a trendy chik place to live... I guess I was wrong
-
I am starting to get excited again! Sounds great, I hope that it is a 1000+er
-
that unfortunatly will probably not happen

I sent an email to my favorite resturant Chipotle asking them to strongly consider opening a location in the future developement, it has everything they could need, near a college, near a hospital, good public transit, movie theater near by (aka a reason to go there other then work/living there), a hotel, and residential condos
Hopefully theyll go for it, when they move into a city they really move in fast, we have one right now, and two under construction (one on south blvd and one in Providence Plaza) I cannot wait... matthews is such a far drive
-
thats it, whenever i go for a run i try to go by it at least once, although my favorite house is the brick house that is either next to it or two over
-
was gonna say the same but you beat me to it... I know their kids.
-
tomorrow is the next big thing... any chance we may see a little trump action in there?
-

hey I like it, definatly going to create a very different look while driving up providence

impressive yes, but retail wise dp is better. 100,000 sq ft is a big difference Looking at the map, I can only hope we can get 1/2 of the high quality shops that they have in DP. A Niketown and B&N Ohh Lord that would be amazing. If the epi center is like DP uptown retail will change and people will want to go uptown for things other then Speed Week
-
DP is a lot bigger though right?
I still want a high end shooping street in charlotte
hell even just a plain old shopping street would make me happy
-
hmm I have been to the metreon many times, very nice but the epicenter wont be the same... though it would be cool to have an electronics store like the sony style store in there, eb games maybe? anyways I think the movie theater is a pretty important piece to the puzzle so I hope it stays in there
-
could be on 2 levels, I have seen it done before
-
ehhh when I hear about a podium connecting the two buildings with retail I hear one thing, having to walk inside of a building to access shops... what a great sucess that is in founders hall. We need STREET retail rather then just retail... at least the epi center is kind of a start
-
Or at least their facades incorporated into the backside of 300 St. Tryon or Catalyst....but no...that would have been too much effort.....
I agree, the buildings with any character and neighborhood kinda feel get flattened for huge condos, I love the new developement, but keep some of the old stuff and blend it, it makes me sad to hear we will be losing them
-
we need to get some progress on this, we were told we would have somemore information within 60-90 days, its approaching 60 right?
-
yessssssssss I love those!
-
its really comming together
-
looks like it was made on google sketchup
and i am getting tired of bofa's indoor shopping and cafes, because they close on the weekends and after 6pm, not exactly what I am looking for in uptown retail
