That's great news. How tall would a 70 story, mixed use tower be? I know some of you seem to be pretty good at figuring that stuff out. I'd be interested to know just how tall you all think these 70 and 40 story towers will be?

I was at REI over the weekend and asked one of the sales associates when the NorthLake store would open. She said it would be Spring '08. This might have been the announced timeframe all along, but somehow I thought it would be sooner. Where exactly is this going?

I don't know whether to be happy or sad about this latest development. I think Whole Foods would be great at that location. A movie theater and restaurants isn't a bad thing either. I'm not sure about the concept of this theater though. Will enough people be interested in that I wonder?

Oh, I'm familiar with what happened. I read the paper everyday. I'm just not concerned with keeping Meck. Co. rural for the sake of a few people. Please reread my original post. It says the city should have stepped up and helped out with the problems with the access road a year ago. I didn't assign blame for the problem with the planned permanent road, I simply stated what I thought the solution should have been.

Birkdale Village has two and it's much smaller than SP. There is a Starbucks and then there is one in Barnes and Noble too. How much caffeine do we need?

I really think the city should have stepped up and helped out with the problems with the access road a year ago. I can't really understand why we let 5 families hijack the access to this project when they want to protect a way of life suited for a rural environment. This is Mecklenburg Co. If you want to live on a dead end country road, might I suggest Hallifax Co?

They still seem to be on that third floor under TTT. It's been a couple of weeks now (more I think, but I really didn't make note of the date the first time I counted). What's the hold up...anyone know? Having that building permit for the tower doesn't do much good if it's going to be months before they get floors 4 and 5 poured. I guess I'm just being impatient...but I hate this kind of delay.

I really think some of you are trying to explain the football experience to some people who will never get it. The BOT and the school will do what they think is right. I certainly know that I'd love for them to create a football team. As for trying to justify or explain the concept to others who are against it no matter what...you're probably wasting your breath.

It's great news that almost 80% of voters say they would pay more for football. We're one step closer to getting football at UNCC. Sounds like the Board of Trustees wanted 25% turnout and 75% support. Both numbers were overwhelmingly exceeded...this is VERY good news!

I have a friend who lives there and he can't wait. Of course, he's happy because it will be a very short drive (he doesn't believe in walking). I'll have to see if he has talked to anyone else. I know if I lived there I'd be really excited. It will do to property values in Oakhurst what Birkedale Village has done for the Greens @ Birkdale Village.
