Is the old Flint Journal still in operation ? If not I would like to see it converted into lofts or a mixed used project.

Why would a cafe serve soul food ? Big Als' down the street does, its'about 4 0r 5 blocks down. The Brown Sugar Cafe will serve, coffee, shakes, smoothies and stuff of that sort, and it will also boost wireless internet.

Just so you now the demo for a skatepark in downtown Flint is being held today, So hopefully ABC12 will have a report.

I have this weirf feeling,but do any of you remember the article in the Flint Journal about downtown Flint titled "Firm Offer" , well it showed a sketch of the "500 Block Building" with an arch, but now instead it has an atrium now. Well today I went to Flintarches.com and took a look at the slide show and showed an arched building with red brick and look just like the sketch in the journal only the building with the arch was on the right side of the PSI building where downtown dollar sits and some other buisiness. So is this building going to be remodeled or was this a big mistake ?

Great pics of the land bank center, the did the facade so quickly, it's unbealivable ! I think theres a club planned by uptown develoments in the bookstore, I'm not really sure though. The surpirise to me is that the coffee house hasn't even finished its' facade ! But I suppose greatness takes time

Yeah on saturday there was some stupid hippies or college student taking picture blocking the corner by Capital Theatre.

A quincenera is celebrated in a Catholic Mexican community for a mexican girl. She has a court ,In my cousin's case she has 15 Damas and 15 chambelanas and of course her escourt the chambelano. Theres a mass which is when there a procession in the church and the quincenera recieves her gifts form her padrinos (God Parents) and family. Then there usually a limo the court goes out for like 2 hours. then return to the hall to eat, do the march, party and hang out with familia, friends,strangers.Oh yeah and we toast too.

I hope with all of these porjects the alleys are restored and revitalized and the buildings facaded facing the alleys are worked on too.

Finally I'm back,I've been so busy with end-of-term finals,My prima's quincenara which was lat night and it was the bomb ! Back to topic When we were riding back to the hall form the cermonial mass in this escalade limo we went throught downtown and I saw work being done on the firdt st. loft exterior anf the land bank center left sidse facade is just about finished and is looking very nice. I'm so surprised how fast constrution is going on Downtown it is amazing !

Exactly, those were the building I was thinking of.

I know Downtown Flint has many forgotten treausures but I honestly hope they demolish many out- of - date building and start fresh, new and recreate downtown flint.The twotruck shops downtown, demolish th em they take up too much space and replace them with new buildings.

If downtown flint can get a blockbusters, a type of shoe store it would bring a whole crowd of teens, adults and seniors.

I hope some work is down on the roofs and sides of these building they look hideous.

I got a question: the office workers and residents who live on floors above the ground level,will the be getting to their homes/workstations through a staircasee within the ground level, or throgh the back. If through the back is the case I hopethe replace the rusted metal stair with some king of cement or some other material because that is so un- attractive.

Dnast, Veefan have you heard of the woman Helen Gonzales ? I attended the vigil lead by my parish fatherand councilman Freeman's wife , there was so many people who attende they had to block the roads, any ways can you guys keep her in your prayers she was such a sweet, generous and community woman.

Is there any demolition coming to downtown flint ? God please tell someone to bring down the gen. towers and replace it with new, urban style mixed used,retail, and loft buildings.

There is already underground parking downtown, at the county administration building.
