http://www.charlotte.com/mld/observer/news...in/16287090.htm It's official! Lowes Foods will not go into Potter Square. I am going to be so shocked when they show up at the corner of Weddington-Matthews and Antioch Church Road.

Since Bloom is owned by Food Lion, I just don't see Bloom going less than two miles from the Food Lion in Indian Trail. I really don't know what will go in the former Winn-Dixie space. I think it's time to let Potter Square die.

Back to the Lowes Foods taking over the Winn Dixie site in Stallings, I don't believe its going to happen. There is a new shopping center going up at the corner of Antioch Church Road & Weddington-Matthews Road. With Harris Teeter and the future Super Bi-Lo just a mile up the road, this is where I bet Lowes Foods is going. I wouldn't mind seeing Bloom go into the Winn-Dixie space, but I don't think they will because it's too close to Food Lion.

Food Lion is less than 2 miles from Potter Square. I realize the demographics wouldn't fit for Lowes in the immediate area, but if you took it in a 2 mile radius of Potter Square, then Lowes Foods would have a lot of potential customers. I don't see them putting two Food Lions that close together

There is a story today (in the Union Observer) about a petition to get Lowes Foods to go into the former Winn-Dixie space at Potters Square in Stallings. The petition is located at Crossroads Grill in Potters Square. http://www.charlotte.com/mld/charlotte/16050772.htm
