  1. I'm so happy this project was approved. Raleigh needs many more mid-high rise projects like this, to make this city efficient.
  2. Wow, I see it. That looks scary. I hope doesn't fall!!!!!
  3. What about our part time city government?
  4. He's probably right. Raleigh has to break out of the curse of mediocrity... The city is practically is 400,000 with a part time city government! Can anyone tell me why we have a part time city government still!!!?
  5. I almost got excited, but in the back of my mind that's what I figured.
  6. Will this be for the Charter? I didn't know this project was braking ground so soon.
  7. Charlotte is really around 1.6, close to 1.7 million. The 2 million+ figure is misleading (15 counties). It includes counties in SC and many here in NC.
  8. What about the other counties in the Triangle? Those are only five counties. That means our CSA (Triangle) is more like 1.6-1.7 million.
  9. The Raleigh-Cary metro is a farce. Raleigh and Durham touch, but their treated like two separate metros. I hope this is fixed in the next Census.
  10. 817,000+ is the proper estimate as of last July.
  11. I hope you're talking about the empty spots and not talking about displacing stores that regular folks have shopped at for years.
  12. There are already retail stores through that corridor.
  13. I dought this gets built. 2014 maybe.
  14. Stop calling people vagrants. That's a degrogatory word.
  15. I think there is a better alternative, like alot of the statements above mentioned.
  16. I agree. For some reason, this project rubs me the wrong way. I think it will kind of take the real urban edge out of that part of town. I actually enjoy the grit of Hillborough street personally.
  17. Everyone for the most part knows that. It's like getting the new wood floors installed for a house you're remodeling, and feeling happy about it. Even though you're only halfway through the project. Don't be a party pooper. This is just the beginning...
  18. Man. I forgot to walk by there yesterday.
  19. I'm going to stroll past there and check it out.
  20. Why does it seem like everyone has become so anti-skyscraper lately. I truly don't understand it. Last year, everyone was disapointed, because of DT's lack of height. All of a sudden when a couple of highrise proposals are approved, now everyone wants Raleigh to become Mayberry. I truly don't understand...... It's silly, really. Wow, we have three buildings over 25 stories, that's just waaay to much for a city close to 400,000. Please...........
  21. I understand where you are coming from JTsaysToYou, but I think your vision of the current fayetteville st is a bit romanticized. Fayetteville is nowhere near it's potential. Realistically speaking a moderate number of the buildings in the Fayetteville st vacinity are not worth saving. I'm not saying that we need to mimic Charlotte. However I believe there can be a harmonious fusion between the old and new on Fay st, because we must leave OUR generations archetecture for future generations to enjoy.
