Well if you squint your eyes lean to the left and drink a few cold ones its just as tall, and thats good enough for me!

Yeah I saw that in the paper today and also on my way home driving by, it looks so small way up there! I guess its part of the topping off ceremony.
  3. It just seems like traffic gets worse everyday, Ive been all over and My top 5 for traffic would have to be- 1 L.A. 2 Houston 3 Newyork and Metro 4 Atlanta 5 Orlando. We should double decker the 408!!!!
  4. Hey I can tell you what its like to live in MetroWest..........SCARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New update on The Vue website, basically says that it is topped out, over 400ft, yada yada yada. Any news about the glass on this bad boy. Im ready for this blue juice box to start shining!!
  6. I was also driving thru U.C.F. last night and saw the stadium. Not impressive at all, but I will agree that it knocks Orlando and U.C.F. up a peg or two having 2 self supporting stadiums. Are there any renderings previously posted on this thread of the new stadium?
  7. Anyone get stuck in traffic last night (Halloween) it was a beotch. Took me 2 hours to get from Lake Buena Vista to U.C.F. !
  8. GinnArena is definitely something I dont want to catch!
  9. I heard recently that Portland, San Antonio, and Charlotte are the cities in the running for the Marlins. But the owner expressed interest in Orlando. I agree with most of you, leave the the Citrus Bowl alone, build the new arena, and lets try and nab the Marlins and build them a stadium. And having downtown as a backdrop would be amazing, but where would the stadium go, and at what angle would it have to be built at?
  10. Yeah but $410 million is still alot of money for a tower anywhere. I think I heard that the new freedom tower in New York will cost $2 billion. With Orlando's crappy height limit what would a $410 million building look like here? Does anyone know what this project might be?
  11. I want it to be 11 stories taller, so I guess im not one of "those people" right?..........good, Im glad that would be embarassing.
  12. And you know if it were possible for us to get a 600ft or 700ft building and if they actually built one it would be the talk of the town, and prob. the most visited and commented thread on the orlando forum. So whats wrong with tall if you can have ground stuff at the same time? Sorry for chanting but...... TALLER TALLER TALLER HIGHER TALLER TALLER TALLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Maybe we should start a poll to see just how many of those "obsessed few" are on here!
  14. Sorry if I offended you man, you shouldnt take this so seriously!
  15. Im all for the "ground level urbanity" but none of these projects are done yet so all i can admire and comment on is the architecure and appearance, as soon as these projects open up im going shopping, eating, drinking, and walking, and while im doing all that im sure what is over my head wont matter. These projects do not suck, what sucks is the FAA, and thats not changing anytime soon. But I would love a dense looking skyline and a few taller buildings, but you guys are right in that awesome urban centers and downtowns are great from the ground up, not the other way around.
  16. Went out and took some pictures today. The first one was challenging, has anyone seen that huge dirt mound near Parramore off of I4, I had to climb it to get this shot, must be about 40-50ft tall. The last picture is the dynetech site which is moving along at a snails pace! http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m197/Bu...nOrlando006.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m197/Bu...nOrlando009.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m197/Bu...nOrlando004.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m197/Bu...nOrlando016.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m197/Bu...nOrlando018.jpg
  17. It would be nice if our new arena has some NBA firsts and broke some records such as amenities and never seen before in an arena type retail, maybe like a rollercoaster on top or something- nah im just kidding! LOL. I just hope that its architectual design is stunning and different than the typical cookie cutter arenas around the country. Im sure I speak for most of us when I say what a sigh of relief that this thing is going downtown. Out of all the projects in the Orlando forum this one has got me the most excited and im finally starting to realize how great Buddy Dyer is for this city. I pledge that we all chip in for a gold statue of buddy standing proud in front of the new arena!
  18. Iam prob. wrong but I think the staples center in LA is the most expensive arena yet. For $485 million the new arena here in Orlando could be the most expensive yet. And does anyone have any idea what kind of seating capacity this arena will have when set up for b-ball?
  19. We all can agree that this is awesome for the city, but what does everyone think of the design.
  20. Does anybody have pictures or renderings of the new arena and citrus bowl?
  21. Lets all enjoy this moment, but its gonna take a good Magic playoff team to do this new arena justice, lets hope they continue to improve and win games. I will be attending alot of them. GO MAGIC!!!!

I just drove west on 408 from UCF to Kirkman and the vue looks about 2 floors taller on the east side of town than it does from the top of my building in metrowest. I was a little bit worried about the new height listing but it looks great. It looked as if they were about 75% complete with that top penthouse level and from goldenrod to mills rd. it seemed to be about the same height as the courthouse and about 25 ft. taller than B.O.A. On the 408 coming out of the last toll booth before downtown the view of Star tower is really sweet giving a momentary illusion of density with suntrust looming over top of it.
